emotional funny hopeful lighthearted slow-paced

I have to say, this is my favorite book in the Bridgerton series so far. I’ll be honest, this may be because Nicola Coughlin’s portrayal of Penelope is probably my favorite of the series, so I’m biased. As a plus size girl, I love Pen. As a writer, I love Pen. As a wallflower, I love Pen. I relate a lot to Penelope and understand a lot of her motivations and her thought process. To me, she’s the most interesting character in the whole series and I wish there had been more time devoted to exploring her time as Lady Whistledown.

The romance between Penelope and Colin is mostly sweet overall. There’s a few out of character moments where Colin grips Penelope too hard, however, compared to some of the previous Bridgeton siblings, Colin seems to be the least toxic. The fact that he can admit he is jealous of Penelope’s writings also adds a new layer to his character as well. Seeing him be able to open and honestly talk with Penelope is also refreshing.
funny lighthearted

Colin spent this book on some thin ice, he is still on thin ice but did somewhat redeem himself by the end
