Very very close second favorite Bridgertoon book. Colin and Penelope are so great. The long time friends to lovers situation and how damn long it takes Colin is just great.
Romancing Mr. Bridgerton was everything I wanted and more! I absolutely adored this book — it had me smiling, swooning, and even screaming from excitement.
Colin and Penelope’s story was so satisfying to read, full of heart, humor, and long-awaited moments that completely delivered. Watching Penelope step into her own and Colin finally see her for who she truly is made my heart so full. Their chemistry, the banter, the romance — everything was perfect.
Easily one of my favorite Bridgerton books so far!

Everyone knows that Colin Bridgerton is the most charming man in London... Penelope Featherington has secretly adored her best friend's brother for... well, it feels like forever. After half a lifetime of watching Colin Bridgerton from afar, she thinks she knows everything about him, until she stumbles across his deepest secret... and fears she doesn't know him at all. Colin Bridgerton is tired of being thought of as nothing but an empty-headed charmer, tired of the notorious gossip columist Lady Whistledown, who can't seem to publish an edition without mentioning him. But when Colin returns to London from a trip abroad, he discovers nothing in his life is quite the same - especially Penelope Featherington! The girl who was always simply there is suddenly the girl haunting his dreams. When he discovers that Penelelope has secrets of her own, this elusive bachelor must decide ... is she his biggest threat - or his promise of a happy ending?
8.0 / 10
Even since I started the series, I thought for sure that Colin's book would be my favorite. I love when he appears in the earlier books and love his character. This book was a severe letdown as this book was boring. There seemed to be no romance, he just suddenly decided that he wanted her. Colin was in lust with Penelope and it didn't feel like he actually loved her.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars was the last hundred pages, kind of redeemed the book.

My favourite so far! Penelope is the ultimate sugar mommy 😆 the TV show did this couple dirty for the first time Penelope revealing her whisteldown role instead was great but Colin not supporting her in that was shite but the bom version Colin was much better -.5 for the commentary on her weight which I didnt enjoy!

Not Julia Quinn's best IMO, Im a Benedict girlie
Colin and Penelope’s storyline is way more interesting than Benedict’s. It has depth and shows each other’s vulnerability. Colin as the first who found out about Penelope’s secret as Lady Whistledown makes more sense to me than Eloise (like in the series). But I sincerely hope the depth is still there in the show.

A very fun read! My favorite out of the bridgerton books so far in both plot, characters and steamy scenes.
