I’ll start off by saying it’s wayyy better than the season of the tv series. I like the way Colin is written, and enjoy that Penelope and Eloise’s friendship was maintained. I also have such a soft spot for hyacinth. Still not my favorite of the series

My least favourite bridgerton book so far. Both characters annoyed me but Colin especially. Found myself pushing to finish this one
~3.5~
Llegit en anglès. Tenia moltes ganes de llegir la història de la Penelope i del Colin i m'ha agradat bastant. Crec q el final ha sigut bastant anticlimàctic i hi ha moments en què he odiat al Colin. Tot i així he gaudit molt i m'ha semblat molt entretingut. A més, des del meu punt de vista, alguns dels tons més misògins dels altres llibres han anat desapareixent en aquest.

Penelope is one of my favourite Bridgerton characters in both the show and books so I was so excited for this one. The friends to lovers dynamic with Colin and Penelope was very sweet and i liked seeing how exactly Colin realised he had feeling for Penelope. It was just a cute fun time, like most of the other Bridgerton books. The added tension of the Miss Whistledown secret in this one was a fun switch up too compared to the typical third act romance conflict.

This is the book I was waiting for! So much so that I skipped the third and went straight to this one, not sorry at all.
I loved watching Colin and Penelope's story unfold! The pining, friends-to-lovers aspect was so cute, and I appreciated that Colin was finally able to see Pen as a romantic interest without her having to drastically alter herself or completely change who she was. Yes, she changed up her dress color and might have lost a little weight, but all that did was enhance her natural beauty. And at the end of the day, she was still a wonderfully curvy leading lady who took charge of her own life!
It has always been heartbreaking to see how Pen is treated by society in these books, but seeing all the backhanded crap she also took on a daily basis in her own home was infuriating. I loved watching Colin stand up to Pen's mom and set her straight. And getting a look into Colin's travels and his newfound love of writing added a nice layer to his character.
This one was, by far, my favorite, and I'm happy to stop reading them here.
