There is so much to this story. I had previously watched the Netflix movie with Zac Efron based on the book written by Ted Bundy’s ex-girlfriend and thought I knew the story. After reading less than a quarter of this book I wondered if I forgot everything, so I watched the movie again to find out how little it actually told. There is sooooo much information to digest and take in. It was a very long read (over 700 pages), but so informative. Definitely an interesting read for those who love true crime and can stomach serial killer reads.

Interesting in the sense that we can truly not know the people beside us. Yet didn’t add much of anything to our understanding of the crimes. Lacklustre.

It was very detailed, and covered the murders, survivors, and alleged survivors really well. It was an interesting perspective from someone that knew Ted. You can see where she went from being a friend, to being a suspicious friend, to knowing without a doubt that he was guilty. It's a long read, and sometimes gets rather long winded, but I suspect that I, too, would have a lot of thoughts to sort if I was friends with a serial killer.

I very much enjoyed this book, however the very long forward and multiple long afterwards were somewhat poorly added in. I wish she would have just extended the book with a little note in more of a fluid fashion. Either way, good read.

This was very long - 18 hours of audio that I had to borrow multiple times because I couldn’t quite seem to finish it. It was also pretty repetitive - I feel like half of it could have been cut out.

Despite the lengthiness, this was a fascinating story! Ann Rule is a true crime author, who was actually writing about the Washington killings and was completely oblivious to the fact that her friend Ted Bundy was the murderer. It was interesting to hear Ann Rule’s perspective of Ted Bundy and hear her describe him as charming and charismatic.

Overall, good book, fascinating story, and interesting perspective. If you enjoy true crime, you would probably enjoy this read.

I listened to this book on Audio and it was read by the author, Ann Rule - I enjoy when the authors read their own stories. (this was also a quick listen, only a couple of hours)

This outlines the story of Ted Bundy and his many year stint of killing and beating women and eventually his prosecution and death. Now, this was a bit more than a true crime story - the author actually knew Ted Bundy quite well and spoke to him many times throughout the years while everything was happening. I found this slanted the writing - I felt she downplayed the seriousness of some of the crimes or the evidence of the cases (but that is just my personal opinion - she admits throughout she didn't entirely believe or disbelieve during the process, but does not fully believe he was guilty). I do wish the book focused a bit more of the trial and prosecutions at the end of the book.

Only read this if you are interested in serial killer stories (and not interested in a weird way, you know what I mean....) this is not a book for everyone.
