The reason why I loved Thirst NO.4 was because you get to see another side of Sita. When Sita got transfered into Teri's body. This showed how vulnerable sita could be if she didn't have control over her vampire insticts. In a way this gave a understanding of how it might have been for her when she turned into a vampire. For the first time you got to see how scared Sita was of dieing. Like how she didn't tell Matt that she wasn't teri for awhile. That was because she was afraid that Matt might kill her again. Also one of my favorite parts is when she remebers what happened to her when she died. That part I could imagine it clearly. The only bad thing about this book was slow at some parts and could have left out the planning to kill the telars.

The Thirst series continually grabs me and pulls me in. I love that there is so much more depth than in most vampire novels. Sita is a very complex character and you almost never know what she's thinking. This installment was very gripping. We travel with Sita and friends as they try to take down two monstrous powers that humankind could possibly fall prey to. We struggle with Sita as she goes through some religious trials. All in all I'm left with the feeling that Sita is overall a good person. I'm anxious to see where the next book takes us in her adventures.

The story continues as Alisa, or Sita as she’s known by her closest friends, has to take down the bad guys. Sita’s group of friends has two organizations after them, the Telar, and the IIC. Both deal with otherworldly creatures that need to be destroyed. She must put herself through hell, literally, to save the people that she loves. The plot in this novel kept getting thicker and thicker with new things springing up for the reader to try and keep track of. It gets annoying trying to keep up, but it’s a good novel in the sense that the author is keeping the reader on their toes with every word throughout the novel. Sita’s character definitely grows the most throughout this series. This novel feels like an ending to the series, although there is another novel after it, which is the final novel. Pike does vampires in a good way, they aren’t cheesy, they are badass, which makes a reader want to read the novel. Overall, this novel was full of action that made the reader want to read more to find out what was going to happen.

Oh, Sita. You just need a day off. Take a cruise, bathe in the blood of peasants, get a blow out. You know, just a break from all the stuff and all the people, aliens, immortals and whatnot trying to kill you or every person you love or even that person you smiled at once at the Home Depot while picking up some rope. Rope always comes in handy, but this you know.

Reading this book is like watching Taken, there's all this action, and then there's some quieter intel gathering time, and then more action, and lots of people die. And some of it even surprised me, and I consider Stephen King good bed time story material.

And for everyone talking about the cover? Yes, the boy is a hottie, but model looks nothing like how Sita is described. I wish they'd just stuck with the original hand drawn covers of the 90's when Sita/Alisa's hair was yellow. Not that I'm putting down the cover model, because I am so not one to judge. I haven't broken any mirrors or anything, but no one's ever going to go to a plastic surgeon and request any of my facial features.

Am I pumped for the next book? Yes I am! And for those of you who love Pike as much as me, you should know that I'm hosting a 2013 Christopher Pike Reading Challenge. Go ahead and join in!

My official review will be up soon, but it's going to be hard because SO MUCH HAPPENS and I try not to spoil. I try. This may prove too hard not to spoil because I have feelings about this book.

I enjoyed reading this book, but it was definitely not on my top rated list for YA books. The characters are pretty bland and all blended together. After reading the whole series, it was frustrating how many different antagonists there were, one after the other after the other. And even though Alisa is supposed to be this incredible, all-knowing vampire, she's oblivious to the antagonists every time. There's no red flags to point the reader in the right direction either. It's like, "Oh hey, here's a new enemy but he was your friend the entire time" and that just repeats over and over. Usually when I read stories I can reflect back and admit I was fooled too, or maybe I saw it coming, but in these books the enemies don't even make sense.
