I was sad that this book just didn't work for me. I loved the first book. However, I did not feel this couples connection. They have already pined for each other for years before this book starts, so you don't get the build of their relationship. They already loved each other.

I also did not enjoy the sex scenes because the h drove me nuts. She yelled "Jesus, Mary, and Joseph" in every single sex scene. It took me out of the sex scenes and was so unsexy. Literally drove me nuts.

The reason they can't be together was just stupid to me. The h really drove me crazy in this book. The constant back and forth and wanting to be with him but refusing to tell her family was infuriating.

I do like the Mafia storyline, and that was the only thing I liked about this book. I will be continuing with the series because I am very interested in the Mafia plot and want to see the brothers' romances for both of the families.

I liked this one better than the last, but this series just isn’t it for me. I don’t like books that all happen simultaneously and feature the main characters so heavily. Feels like spoilers.

Broken Fighter by Maggie Cole is a brother's best friend dark mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Gregory Salinas and Allyson Voller. This is the second book in the Mafia Wars series. The book can be read as a standalone but the stories are interconnected.

This is the second book of Maggie's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. I loved the relationship between Boris and Nora. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Cruel Enforcer to be released on June 1, 2021 so I can get Sergey and Kora's story.

Gregory and Allyson did a great job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you love mafia romances, brothers best friend romances, dark romances, or romantic suspense.

Nora and Boris have loved each other for as long as they both can remember. Never acting on it until later in life, always wishing their circumstances were different and being together wouldn't be an issue.

Two hardhead families, one a crime family & the other not, makes being together almost feel impossible. Due to this, they fight the pull they've always had. Until they can't anymore.

Boris and Nora give in to what they've longed for only for Nora to turn around and push Boris away. The fear for the families taking over the love she has in her heart.

Back and forth they go until finally it's all laid out that their love is what matters and their baby is what matters most.

However, the fear of how the families will react to the news of their relationship and their child is nothing compared to the threats that linger in the background. Other Mob families are working to destroy their happiness and break them completely.

What those families don't realize, is the Ivanov's and the O'Malleys realize that they are stronger together and no one gets away with threatening either of them.

The emotions I felt reading this book made me excited to turn to the next page. You know a book is well written when you have legit emotions towards characters. Even though I knew part of the outcome (learned from Ruthless Stranger), I was still frustrated, yelling at them to stop being so crazy when it came to each other. But thats okay because I absolutely love when stories make me feel this way. A definite must read.

**Broken Fighter is book 2 in the Mafia Wars series and they should absolutely be read in order. Some scenes may be a trigger for some**

Broken Fighter is the story of the the spitfire that is Nora O'Malley and the Russian phenomenen that is Boris Ivanov. The two crime families shouldn't be associated with each other, but it soon becomes apparent that they need each other.
There has been something between Nora and Boris for years, the slightest of touches, the coy, but heated looks and it all came to a head one night when they were alone.
Boris has his demons...a promise and a deal he made to save his brothers from the Devil, just one single night every year is all it takes for Boris to change into this different person for the sake of his family.
Nora has her fair share of family troubles...3 over protective brothers, always wanting it all the Irish way of life, but when her and Boris are together...nothing else matters!
This series is the my first time reading Maggie Cole, and I'm loving every minute!!!

Boris and Nora are fire and gasoline! There is not stopping their chemistry, it is definitely something to be envious of!

Their story has all of the roller coasters you could ever want! Boris is Nora’s brothers best friend and has always been forbidden due to the fact he is not of Irish descent. They have always had a smouldering passion around each other and once they act on it, there is no going back. They will either be together, or take the entire world out with them.

- But how do you stay away from the girl you've always known? The one whose face you can't escape all day, who seems to be the only person on earth who can look into your soul? The one who never denies what you're capable of but still doesn't run?

Broken Fighter is the second book in The Ivanov Family series. This book is told from dual points of view from Boris and Nora. Boris is friends with Nora's brother, and she has had feelings for him as long as she can remember. She is Italian, and he is Russian.

Nora's family wants her to marry another Italian and them have babies together, but she's tired of hearing it all of the time. She starts to see Boris behind their backs. Boris has a secret he's hiding about what he does for a living, and when Nora finds out she still loves him.

What happens when Nora's family finds out about their secret relationship? Will they be able to survive what his job entails?

I really liked this book, and can't wait to see what happens next in this series.
