i love Miss Marple - she is a delight!!!
this book was great!!! very engaging plot and mystery with a ending that surprised me!! i didn’t see that coming!! 👏🏼
i loved Lucy's character - a beauty with brain!!
and i enjoy romantic subplot in Christie’s books. this didn’t quite have that, but the mystery of who Lucy is going to choose in the end was very exciting. i honestly was rooting for Inspector Craddock – whose character i loved alottt. and since it was not clearly mentioned, i’m going to presume that Lucy ended up choosing him 🥹 last few lines of the book really made me smile ear to ear 😁
“Listen, darling,” said Lucy. “Are we investigating crime, or are we match-making?”
Miss Marple twinkled. “I’m afraid I am rather romantic. Because I am an old maid, perhaps.”

Having read a lot of Poirot books recently I thought I would try a Miss Marple, but I think I chose badly - she was barely in this one!
The plot was a bit convoluted; too many characters and irritating coincidences (minor spoiler:) that only seemed to be there to throw the scent off the real murderer.
But maybe I'm just bitter - I really thought I'd worked this one out, sadly it was not to be.

the whole business with Alexander's friend's mum being Edmund's ex-fiancee was a bit strange, especially when she had a connection with Alexander's dad tooBut maybe I'm just bitter - I really thought I'd worked this one out, sadly it was not to be.
