I have mixed feelings about this book. It was a super quick read and kept me engaged but I also felt like not alot happened. There was not nearly enough groveling from the MMCs after they almost killed the FMC. There was also not a lot of relationship building at all and it had a instalove but I hate you feel.
Wow this was so poorly written and constructed. DNF’d at 11%. Very over the top ‘woe is me’ evil stepmother and uncaring father pushing me into arranged marriage and I’m just a girl who wants what she wants . Vs dumb boys who are hellbent on reclaiming a girl who didn’t want them ? And in the meantime they’re willing g to chase away their scent match (a seemingly rare special thing)…and they all agree to that
The development and writing style is so on-the-nose over-the-top stuff I would’ve written in my middle school diary . Show don’t tell, damnit

This was such a great book! I’m so glad I took a chance on it! I loved getting to know the characters. There was such growth in them and the plot. I really loved everything about this book! It pulled me in from the beginning and wouldn’t let go.
I really enjoyed getting to know Evie and her men. They are all so different but have struggles they are working through. I will say one of the alphas did piss me off more than the others. But I won’t say which, because that’d ruin the fun lol! Something that stuck out to me was the way Evie’s strength throughout the story.
The little moments and the way Evie broke down their walls had me smiling. I really love Evie and the way she is with them.
Overall, I really loved this story! It was so cute and I can’t wait for more by this author. This book was so good and put me through so many different emotions lol. I really enjoyed it!

This is the first book in the Claimverse series, a collection of standalone contemporary omegaverse stories. Tropes include why choose (mmfmm), rejected mate, angst, hurt/comfort, feminine rage, praise and a bit of groveling. There is a fair amount of spice (mf and group with f) so please review the content warnings.
The Lovely: I loved the concept and the story/plot of this book. It’s rejected mates but not quite that simple or straightforward. The FMC is a little old to not have a pack and it’s evident her father will be choosing for her if she doesn’t find and accept a pack quickly. The Blackwood pack has already “lost” an omega and is against (or rather, the leader of the pack is against) accepting a new omega, so they reject her well after they should have made that decision (trying not to spoil here). Since she’s essentially locked in at that point, she sets out to get her revenge against them. Again, well-executed rejected mate story.
The Mundane: The first half of the book is very dialogue light. We get a lot of narration about what is happening and how they’re feeling but the characters barely talked to each other. One, this really made the story feel slow as most of the narration was inner monologue. Two, it really limited learning about the characters, seeing them develop and/or form connections (good or bad) with each other. The dialogue that was included was well-written and drew me into the characters but until they actually started talking even a normal amount after the half way mark, it was tough to read.
Rating: 4/5 Stars: 3/5 Flames
Recommendation: I received a review copy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I saw this author posting on TikTok and was interested based on the promise of angst/hurt/comfort in a why choose omegaverse setting. That said, we don’t really get a lot of that angst/hurt/comfort until after the halfway point. Also, if you are reading this for the groveling, know that it’s pretty short and minimal. All that said, I did enjoy the story and the characters once we really got to know them. I loved how they treated her in the second half of the book and the powerful emotions at play during the whole book. I will definitely read the next book from this author. If you like why choose omegavere with a heap of hurt and comfort, I think you would like this book.

It was an okay read for an omegaverse, however the first 50% was very slow. A lot of telling and inner monologuing. It was kinda boring
the next 50% moved with the speed of light. It was so fast you feel everything is rushed. The grovel was rushed, the romance was rushed, the smut was rushed, even the last OW scene was rushed.
There should have been a bit of balance.

I really enjoyed this one! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I loved getting to know Evie, Damien, Asher, Cole and Lake. They are all different personalities and have their struggles that they need to work through. Damien, Asher, Cole and Lake are all Alpha's with Damien being the top and they have formed a pack. They had an omega who left them and dissolved their bond and it has caused fractures in all of them. Families are pushing for them to take a new omega and Damien's father is the one that finds Evie and sets that in motion and then he forces Damien's hand. Damien has a plan to get around that by forcing Evie to say no and/or run from them. When she doesn't initially back down, he doubles down and tells the other ones that they are going to go along with it as well. I loved Evie's strength throughout the story and enjoyed the build up. With the men not treating her well and it being more apathetic or like enemies she stood her ground well and with things at home not being right, she just wants them to give her a chance to prove that she can be a good omega for them and make a good home. She started breaking down the walls just by being herself. It does take a drastic thing to force the others' hands in standing up and stopping Damien and it also wakes Damien up. They all know they have a long way to go to earn Evie's trust back and hope that she will give them that opportunity and maybe for more. This story was well written and had plenty holding my attention and keeping me engaged. I will definitely be looking forward to more set in this world.
