Ein schönes Kinderbuch, obwohl Kinder es vielleicht gar nicht so gut erfassen können wie ältere Leser. The Phantom Tollbooth strotzt nämlich nur so vor Wort- und Zahlenspielen. Durch diese Richtung hat es mich extrem an Alice im Wunderland erinnert, wobei es hier wohl Milo im Wörterland heißen sollte. Quirlig und clever.

GAH such a classic. love this silly book. so so good. reread for the childhood nostalgia and was not disappointed
This is the second classic book lately I've read to my daughter as we attempt to fill in some gaps in our classic consumption. I must say, this didn't quite rise to the heights of Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. However, I think this book would be much more enjoyable read to one's self rather than aloud. A lot of the wordplay would be more effective that way, but that is likely just my own tastes. Regardless, this was definitely enjoyed by the 9 year-old and we had a great time relating to this in follow up conversations.
את הספר הזה קראתי כמה וכמה פעמים כשהייתי ילדה. אז הוא יצא תחת השם "במגדל הפורח באוויר" תחת סדרת מרגנית המופלאה.
זכרתי אותו בתור ספר מצחיק ומסקרן שגרם לי לחשוב, הרבה פעמים קישרתי אותו דווקא לספר "מומו"
אני חייבת לציין שהתרגום החדש עושה רק טוב לסיפור. נראה כי משחקי המילים במהדורה זותאימים בצורה טובה יותר למקור
רק דבר אחד מפריע לי, וזה שם הספר. אמנם שני השמות שקיימים בעברית אינם תרגום מדוייק של המקור, ואני יכולה להבין למה, קשה מאוד למצוא מילה מתאימה ל

בעברית. נוסיף גם את העובדה שהרעיון של תשלום אגרה בביתן הוא רעיון זר למרבית הילדים הישראלים ונוכל לקבל לחלוטין את השינוי ששני המתרגמים החליט לבצע.
אבל, בעוד התרגום של אוריאל אפק שמר על האווירה של המסתורין, ועל העובדה שיש בנין שנעלם, יניב פרקש בחר לתת לאחד הספרים הכי פחות משעממים שאני מכירה את אחד השמות הכי משעממים שאפשר. לא רק שהמוטיב של בנין שנעלם לא מופיע, השם לא מרמז לנו על מסתורין אלא על ממלכה שלא נשמעת מעניינת במיוחד.
כל כך חבל מכיוון בהתרגום החדש עושה לספר הנהדר הזה רק טוב.

I never read a book which is so unique. The wordplay in this book is so good it makes me appreciate the words, language and books in general.

Que bonito librooooo :) para niños de cualquier edad e incluso curioso para lectores adultos. Yo vi la película cuando era niña y no sabía que era de un libro, por eso decidí leerlo. Es una manera de ver el mundo muy fantástica y a la vez lógica, con personajes muy simpáticos.
I just finished reading it to my kids. Several times they had to ask me why I was laughing because the witty jokes are a little beyond them. But they loved the whimsical world and the adventure of this story.
Lovely little read! I wish I had read it as a kid because the lessons in it are so so important. But, even as an adult, there were some lovely reminders in there. I feel like everyone should read this at some point in their life!
