Never would I have thought to read a book about horse racing, if I didn’t happen to stumble across it.

Seabiscuit tells the story of maybe the greatest horse that has ever lived. Laura Hillenbrand work with this book is marvellous. While it is written true to the story with a lot of knowledge and insight you’re always able to disappear into the racing world along Pollard, Smith, Howard, and of course Seabiscuit.

Worth the hype. By the end I was invested in how the Santa Anita Handicap turned out, and I'm not a horse/sports person normally. The book is thoroughly researched.

I'm not really a fan of non-fiction books, but this one was well-written and gripping. The author masterfully builds up the relationship of the characters and I found it a very exciting and emotional read. It was very well-researched and the author effortlessly took me in to the time period and made me feel like I was a part of the story. I was almost sad when it was over.

I did see the movie when it came out but honestly don't remember much of it. I'm hoping to catch a viewing of it again, now that I've read the book.

Fantastic book. Very well-written, engaging, kept me wanting to read more. The races got my heart pounding, even without an audio or music track. Some of the things in the movie aren’t perfect, bu t they’re fairly decent. It did gloss over some of Pollard’s failings and didn’t bring up anything about Woolf’s Type 1 Diabetes. Also, the movie makes Howard’s son appear to be 11 or 12, but he was 15 when he dropve the car off the cliff. But the book is excellent! Better than the movie.

The film that was released in 2003 has been one of my all time favorites until now. I thought that it was impeccable, but surprisingly so, the book which was aimed to be truthful to history made the film more fanciful in comparison.

Notwithstanding, there is one aspect of both the film and the book that ceaselessly left me a profound impression. It’s the uplifting and fighting spirit that this peaceful little horse aroused in me. Though it had happened within only a tiny span of years in the long past, I doubt I would ever forget such a horse and such an inspiration his brief existence has brought to me who live more than half a century away.

Was surprised how much I liked this. Incredibly interesting story about a subject about which I was previously completely uninterested. Great book.

Not as interesting of a story as Unbroken. Still well-written, just didn’t draw me in

Great book. Fun to read. Not as good as unbroken, in my opinion, but still a very interesting read!
