Really enjoyed this! I didn't feel lost with this being the 3rd book in the series and not having read the first two before it. I am glad we have more of them at work . . . plan on reading the rest!

Found this one in the school library. Looked interesting - let's give it a try!

2.5 stars Hmmm...I think this will be the last in the series for me. It's not bad...it's just not holding my attention. I don't think the overall story line is going anywhere. In the first half of this book, the author uses many Spanish words and phrases. Yes, I could gather contextual clues to know what she meant - but I found it annoying and it didn't really contribute to the story. They weren't specific phrases that didn't have English translations - I think it was to try to add more to Jimena's character but it didn't work for me. Also, the author uses word for word reminders of what happened in the past...please paraphrase! This book was more interesting than the second one but not enough to continue.

Jimena is such a badass! Loved getting to see her Latina roots shine through in her story.

oh boy, this was definitely not the best of the first three books. i'm still planning on reading through the rest though, just for nostalgia's sake.
