did i understand anything ? no. did i like it regardless ? absolutely. i’m so curious to see how celaena’s small actions will change the course of yrene’s path, and maybe reverberate in the future, as well as the original saga.

I'm literally sobbing at the bar, I love girls helping girls. You go Yrene!!

Original review at Gabic Reads.

A nice short little story where we get to see the compassionate side of Celaena again. Though quick and a good read, I'm not quite sure how it fits into the Throne of Glass anthology. So far, I've read through book 4, Queen of Shadows, and I haven't really seen the relevance. The other 4 novellas in the anthology (the ones originally released before the first book) all set the scene for Celeana's capture and how she got to that point. They set us up with who Celaena is and what her breaking points and passions are.

Though this book has yet to be shown to have little relevance to the series as a whole, I will take as much time with Celaena as I can because she is fierce and independent and yet has this ability to love wholly, which is one of her strengths and one of her weaknesses.

Another great little short story. Kinda hope we meet Yrene Towers again in the main series!
