Murder for the Modern Girl is about is a high-flying flapper Ruby Newhouse uses her secret mind-reading ability to absolutely crush at charades and to hunt down and poison killers who escape justice. To sum up: this book has atmospheric world-building, cool characters and romance. It was a page turner, that's for sure

I wish I loved this but I didn’t. The writing was confusing, the characters were annoying and it was not a good read for me. I love the roaring 20s and murder mystery and this could’ve been more

Overall, this book was slow and read very juvenile. There were a few parts that kept my attention, but I think I read this book at the wrong time

The cover made me a little hesitant to start it because books  ith a similar style tend to be pretentious or awkward or just kinda boring but this was none of them.
The setting is very cool, and the characters are the kind that you can't help but root for. Theres so many interesting sub-plots and although the mystery part of the book is short, the bringing back justice part is longer and pretty well delevoped. I enjoyed it alot .
I have mixed feelings about the romance, while I completely understand what she liked about guy, his reasons for liking her for most of the story are pretty shallow 😭. Like she's so cool yes as a reader I absolutely love her but the way she was around him he could have only been falling for a charming pretty girl ; there was nothing else there for him to know until much later. But by the end I love thier relationship it makes alot of sense and they're very cute.
I would highly recommend this book no matter what you're in the mood for reading I think it would be a good read.
