Title: Toxic Toffee
Author: Amanda Flower
Series: Amish Candy Shop Mystery Book 4
Chapters: 40 plus epilogue
Pages:304
Genre: Cozy Mystery
Rating: 4 stars
Publisher: Kensington
Toxic Toffee is the fourth book in the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series. Bailey King is back in Harvest Ohio after filming a cooking show in New York when she's hit with an Easter crisis to make a giant bunny made out of toffee for the town's Easter celebration.
However, she finds herself in the midst of another murder when the Amish rabbit farmer drops dead in front of her. Aiden the sheriff's deputy wants her to stay out of it before she becomes the next victim.
Each of the Amish Candy shop mysteries gets better than the one before it, especially now that Bailey is starting to see Harvest Ohio as home she's got a stake in the community and solving the murders and making sure the Amish community is treated fairly something her and Aiden can agree on even if the sheriff doesn't see it that way.
I look forward to the next book in the series. As well as other books by the author.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

This fun and warm hearted cozy mystery is set in an Amish town where you will find a giant toffee rabbit, a cute pot bellied pig running amuck, and also a bit of murder!
I just love the setting of this book and every mystery in this series is better than the last. The author is a definite favorite with her well planned mysteries and interesting and likable characters.

I absolutely love everything Amanda Flower writes. Having the opportunity to read the 4th installment of her Amish Candy Shop Mystery series was such a treat!
We continue to become more acquainted with the town of Harvest located in Amish country in Ohio. The colourful cast of characters is dynamic and lovable.
In this novel Stephen Raber - the jovial and kind "Santa Claus" like Amish rabbit herder and farmer dies of an apparent heart attack. Only it turns out he was actually poisoned by eating lily of the valley laced toffee which is fatal to those with heart conditions.
Bailey who has by now become a familiar insider in Harvest is approached by the Amish to help discover the murderer. This book also introduces us to a new character who will be the protagonist of her new Amish Matchmaker series

Three things I've learned to expect from an Amanda Flower book are murder, mayhem, and a multitude of animals to fall in love with. I certainly wasn't disappointed in Toxic Toffee because it offered all these things and more. This book had me smiling (and laughing) from beginning to end.
The small town of Harvest is all abuzz when rabbit farmer Stephen Raber dies of a heart attack (or is it?) right in front of the townspeople. Never fear though because Bailey King is on the case. Much to the dismay of her boyfriend, sheriff deputy Aiden. For as much as he tries to keep Bailey out of the case the more she gets involved. I enjoyed the relationship between these two characters and how it has developed over the course of the series. Aiden is a perfect balance of calm and reason to Bailey's "go get'em" attitude. Of course Aiden's mom, Juliet and her ever-present pet pig Jethro always lend a bit of comedic relief when the story gets a bit too serious.
I absolutely love the author's writing style. She has a gift of being able to draw readers into a story with wit and charm. I love all the quirky characters she creates and I still think she might gift each one with a small piece of her own personality which makes them all seem so realistic and lovable. Her books are easy and fun to read.
Cozy mystery fans are sure to love this latest installment in the Amish Candy Shop series. This book would also be a great introduction to the author's work. Though it is the fourth book in the series it can absolutely be read as a standalone. Grab a treat and a drink and go visit the fine folks in Harvest. You'll be glad you did! Happy reading!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and was not required to write a review. All opinions are mine.

Book #4 doesn't disappoint! Just as fun and well written as the first 3 books in the series!
You *could* read this as a stand alone. You would miss a little bit of character development from previous books, but each mystery is wrapped up in each book so you won't be too lost.

A very good cozy in a series that is becoming one of my favourites.
It's great to meet again the old cast of characters and meet new ones like the sweet rabbit and Millie the matchmaker.
The setting is as lovely as usually and the strong mystery kept me guessing till the end.
I look forward to reading the next installment.
Highly recommended!

Dollycas’s Thoughts
Rabbits! Rabbits! Rabbits!
Bailey King returns from New York just in time for “Easter Days”. A new festival created to bring more tourists to Harvest, Ohio. While there will be plenty of live rabbits hopping around, Bailey has been asked to make a huge sweet bunny featuring tons of toffee. While trying to get all the details Bailey meets rabbit keeper Stephen Raber and his special bunny, Puff. In the middle of the conversation, Mr. Raber falls to the ground. Bailey shouts for help, but the man is dead. Everyone assumes he had a heart attack, but the coroner finds evidence Stephen Raber was poisoned.
Bailey finds Mr. Raber was very well-liked in the community, why would anyone want to kill him? The victim’s son begged Bailey to find the killer as she had before for others. Then when she learns the murder weapon was a piece of toffee she feels she has no choice and pushes Aiden, her boyfriend/Deputy Sheriff to let her in on his investigation. He knows the Amish will open up with her more than they would with him so he agrees. They may go down a few rabbit holes to solve the case of the Toxic Toffee, but as long as they solve the case, it’s worth it.
I love these characters. Even with a murderer in their midst, they still know what’s important. Keeping a special bunny safe, constructing a giant toffee rabbit, keeping the sweet shop’s shelves full for customers, and in Juliet Brody’s case, getting Aidan and Bailey hitched in a summer wedding. (They have barely started dating and are definitely not engaged.)

Charlotte Weaver stood in the middle of Times Square with her mouth hanging open and the ties of her black bonnet flapping on the hot air pushing its way through the subway grate, as the trains rumbled below.
The fourth book in the Amish Candy Shop series is a delight. It opens with Bailey and Charlotte finishing up the taping of the Amish Sweets show. Bailey is summoned back to Harvest by Margot to participate in the Springtime/Easter celebration in the Square. Margot enlists Bailey to create the worlds largest candy bunny made of toffee. While discussing the plans with Margot, a local rabbit breeder died suddenly. Bailey ends up with a large white rabbit named Puff and the feeling that the death was not a heart attack.
This is probably my favorite book so far in the series. I love that Bailey and Aiden have a strong, mature relationship without evidence of a love triangle. I love Swissmen Sweets with Maami, Charlotte, Emily and of course, Nutmeg. The town of Harvest sounds like somewhere I would visit and feel right at home.
Jethro is my favorite pig!! I love that Juliet rarely sees the mischief he creates. I have all the feels when he, Nutmeg and Puff are together as one big happy group.
I enjoy reading about the Amish community and learn something new with each book. I’ve never been to Amish country but certainly want to go.
Bailey has moved into her own little house that comes complete with a nosy neighbor. That plays out well in the story.
The murder had a number of twists and turns with family secrets thrown in for good measure. It’s always hard when the victim is well liked and not a devious character that many would like to see dead.
The recipes always make me drool. I don’t think I have the patience to make toffee but I certainly enjoyed reading about it.
This series gets better with every book and I highly recommend it.
