I thought it was a very good reverse age gap.
Liked the supporting cast (esp. FMCs best friend) and totally dislike her bosses attitude which showed what a great job the author did with her as a villian.
While I felt the story was a little slower paced, the time frame covered is pretty short so in relationship time theirs was fairly fast if that makes sense.
A great reverse age gap

Ahh swoon!! Such a sweet, yet sassy story. Blakely is having a bad day when she meets the charming Slade in a bar. They both have lots of issues they need to overcome.
There were so many elements to love about this one, an age gap, opposites attract and strangers to friends to lovers. And Blakely is getting her second chance at love with a man who is constantly pushing her up and being the best person to have on her side ... unlike her ex-husband.
Character development is one of my favorite things to see in a book and Blakely goes through quite the change in the best way possible. She never really knew how toxic a relationship she was in until she met Slade. He was constantly showing her how much of a beautiful and amazing person she was. And she really started coming into herself but keeping the feistiness that she carries so well.
Sladeeeeeee, that man, LOVEEEE him so much. He won me over so quickly and he's just so damn smooth about everything.
One thing that kept me from rating it a 5 was the constant conflict with her boss, Heather. I felt like it played a bigger role than it should have and kind overpowered things a bit for me. This definitely might be a small thing for many though, so don't mind me.
Highly recommend this book, a light read, low drama and alllllllll the heat!

Blakely’s insecurities annoyed me a bit. She was a very typical “older woman” character and that was disappointing for me. She has an ex, her ex is now involved with a younger woman, she has insecurities thanks to the ex…..nothing out of the box here. So I got a bit frustrated with this character and her insecurities.
Slade to Blakely ……this about sums it up….
“It’s your doubt that kills you, and I’ve sat here and wondered why. Why do you not think you deserve this? The respect? The promotion? The laughter? The admiration? I’ve told myself Paul’s to blame for all of this, for wearing you down and killing your self-esteem. It’s easier than thinking you are choosing to be this person . . . but he can’t be your excuse all the time. You’re the one who has to look in the mirror every day, and until you can like who you face, until you see the same woman I admire looking back at you, you’re going to struggle at your job and you’ll definitely struggle with accepting the fact that I like you, Blakely Foxx.”
