This was a really sweet book with a bit of steam. I loved the overall growth of the heroine, and I loved the hero and how he supported and encouraged her.
While I enjoyed them as a couple, I didn’t feel that electric chemistry. They are compatible and go together, but I didn’t feel it between them.
The plot and the writing are done well, but the conflict was expected and the resolution was resolved very quickly. I also would have liked that if the evolution and independence of the heroine was more driven by her than the hero, which is maybe why I’m torn over the book. I wanted a really strong heroine who showed 40 is amazing. While she does that, that hero is responsible for showing her. I wanted a more woman empowered story.
I did enjoy the narrators. They are some of my favorites. It was produced well, and I think added a bit to the story.
Overall, an enjoyable read. If you like low angst, cute couples, swoony heroes, this is for you.

This was a really fun and sweet book. I liked that there was no over the top drama or angst, it was light and made it extremely enjoyable to read. Gotta love a man that is one heck of a confidence booster. He was so supportive of Blakely and wanted her to break out of shell and live her best life post divorce. I thought those two made a great couple and I loved the age gap. It was awesome reading about a woman who is just a titch younger than me!

Can I just say that the cover of the book matches Slade Henderson perfectly? All smiles with all that carefree personality and it’s just too good to be true. You can’t help but fall in love with this man who is all about turning all those insecurities into strengths, being the biggest cheerleader and more importantly, the voice of reason for Blakely Foxx! She's one lucky girl! I admire his methods of resolving points by being honest and transparent, which makes him more mature than Blakely. On the other hand, Blakely can be a feisty and smart woman, until her insecurities and fear kicks in. I am so happy that Slade was able to show her that not everything is about age, may it be at work or in a relationship. Age is just a number.
I have enjoyed this story immensely with all the funny moments courtesy of Slade and Blake’s funny gal, Kelsie. That was a whole lotta fun!

When I read books like this and All Grown Up by Vi Keeland, I'm given "hope" that maybe I'll find that guy after my divorce who is worth all the effort. Blakely Foxx is such a strong and smart woman, who developed insecurities because her shitty ex-husband was insecure in himself. Slade Henderson is that take charge good guy that most of us can never find. Circumstances throw these two together and it's such a great ride. With meddling moms, difficult co-workers, ride or die friends and crazy good sex. Slade helps Blake find herself again and in the process she falls head over heels in love. They both do, but they think it's the wrong time, but that's when the best things happen. Beautiful take of finding true love when you least expect it.
