4.5 out of 5 Stars: The plot twists in this book seriously top tier. The potatoes always make me laugh when I need it. Chokshi is always the best at helping me survive stressful weeks. I am glad I read this later because I don't have to wait for the next one to come out just my turn at the library.

This series is... not for me. I love the hindu mythology and concepts. I just do not like the pop culture references and the humor. Everything feels one note. Characters are all the same, personality-wise, with only one or two traits that are unique to the individual, and one of those is their celestial weapon. The world is hard to imagine as little information is given on the setting and it's set in a fantasy realm, instead of our real world.

It's fine. i just don't love it and did not want to finish the book, but just kept reading to get done with the series. I just wish that this book was more adult and not in the Rick Riordan-esque style/format

I was under the impression this was the last book in the series, so the ending was a surprise for me

Overall I enjoyed the story and the way the characters are growing up, but honestly, Aru feels too immature for her age to me. I know I'm being judgemental of a fictional character, and I know it's been a few days since I was fifteen, but even then, I just felt like Aru was still a little too childish for a lot of the book. Again, they're growing up and learning and I liked that, I just feel like the age the characters act sometimes is closer to like 10 or 11 rather than 15. And, sorry, last thing. I love pop culture references, and I think when done with the right timing and flair, they can be really funny, but there were honestly just too many in this book. A Pretty Woman quote in the middle of a battle? That felt weird and disjointed and it threw me out of the tense battle scene.

I know I'm ranting here, and I'm sorry, but I really did enjoy this book. There's a lot of really nice depth and mythology here. But in future books I would love to see more of that depth. Help me believe that these characters are starting to grow up.

My Love for this series is unlimited... really

Pros
- I think because Aru Started as a young hero who wore Spiderman Pjs, I am having a hard time imagining a teenage Aru, like awwww our baby is all grown up
- I Like the perspective since the last book, obsession, forgiveness, letting go... for Middle Grade book to put all of that and make it so sincere and so meaningful WOW..
- I have been at the edge of my seat the entire book for Kara, I was like... now she is going to turn evil... now she is going to do something really bad.... now she is going to be a spy..... I am thankful and little shocked we were kept in the dark till the last view pages... like wow, I saw that coming but not in that way, never in that way
- The book deals a lot with self-doubt and internal conflict within oneself, which is something we all commonly had growing up, because in the hope you are doing well, you would want to seek approval but you would never ask.... I can relate to that feeling...
- The most lovable thing about this book in particle is that it deals with anger toward circumstances in a way that would liberate not invite more anger, admitting weakness, working through family issues, working through differences in appearance, working through a entanglement of emotions
- Obsession has invited a common grey area into this book, because the sleeper is so obsessed with having a family he is about to destroy the world, because Bri was not supposed to be week she is obsessed with being strong in all fields, because Kara is so keen on being a part of the whole, she destroyed the whole.. and so on

Cons
- none, that's a rarity for me, I always have something to comment about but this time, I am all good with this one...

Ms. Chokshi is making a honorable Series that amazingly represents the Hindu Mythology while dealing with growing up issues in the most relatable way possible, you would take one look at the the many lines and you would find your heart in shambles.

Also, I believe that Ms. Chokshi is keeping the Riordan Tradition of Tearing out hearts out and replacing it with beautiful words and meanings

I am looking forward to the Finale with great hopes, I believe it will all come down to the simplest of things.
