5 Stars ---- An excellent end to this hilarious series!

Filled with meta-commentary, bizarre bookish humour, evil librarians and lens wielding heroes, this is finally the ending to the Alcatraz series that us "a small but tenacious group of readers from the hushlands" have wanted for years. It feels more like a long-story than a novel, but it wraps up the story after the cliff-hanger of the [b:The Dark Talent|26114421|The Dark Talent (Alcatraz, #5)|Brandon Sanderson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1443207060l/26114421._SY75_.jpg|26576862], and even gives a touching commentary on mental health, self-perceptions, and what it means to be a hero.

I'm feeling a little let down by this one. I can't tell if it's just that the long wait for the last two volumes in the series caused me to forget a lot of the details, or if, dare I say it, Sanderson pushed this off on a co-author because he knew he didn't have a great story here.

It wasn't a bad story. I feel a sense of completion about the series and I didn't dislike this final book, but it just feels so forgettable, especially compared to how fresh and hilariously irreverant the first one was. If you've waited this long, you might as well finish the series, but I suspect those who read the whole series in one go will like this one better.

I did not like this book it falls short compared to the others. Events moved too fast so I think the pacing is messed up. Not a whole lot happens. It feels like the book was pushed out too early.
