A charming novel, about losing your life partner and then living a double life, not being able to accept the death.
Is the seeing her partner while sleeping on sleep pills another world, or really happening, or all in her head?
It doesn't really matter, what matters is this is a unique way to look at grief and was very interesting and thought provoking with a lot of heart.
Grief takes time and there is no straight line.

This book was SO much better than Silver's previous book. It reminded me of "P.S. I Love You" or "Me Before You" (I'd rate Lydia between the two).
I appreciate the love-triangle in Lydia more than I did in ODID too. I find the "Sliding Doors" plot less frustrating than years of missed connections and miscommunication, as was the case with ODID.

This novel is very like Sliding Doors, which was one of my favorite romance (rom-com?) movies. I love the pace of Lydia’s grief, and the slow build of certain plot points. I don’t want to give anything away!
I would go like 2 1/2 stars in this one. I like the idea of the book but it was a little slow.

Really, I’d give it a 4.5 but the Goodreads gods won’t let me
The cover is cute but don't let it fool you. I DNF at 100 pages. So so boring. Half the book the main character is imagining so it really holds no value. I kept skimming over paragraphs hoping for the story to kick in. The writing isn't good and let's talk about the random fonts and stars... made me feel like I was reading a preteen book... Very disappointing given all the great reviews I heard.
While an easy read, I was left underwhelmed. I wanted to really enjoy this book but I found myself pushing to finish it. It was a light read and had my emotions in a chokehold at some points. I’m sad I didn’t love it.
This book is 100% raw and emotional. I cried so many times. At first I hated it. I felt that it glorified the grieving process, mental health, and addiction. But how does one continue to live after everything they’ve ever known and loved in life dies? My heart ached for Lydia throughout the entire story. In the end I loved it. I loved her courage and her determination for her own healing process. It leaves you feeling hopeful.
