Идея классная, воплощение — ну, так

A few tears were shed over this one. A beautiful story.

I wanted to love this book and have picked it up several times over the last few months. But in the end I can’t get through it. It’s just too boring.

3.5 Written really well, this was a great dive into grieving, rediscovering yourself, and how major the little choices you make can be. Beautiful and heartbreaking. It was also super cliche and super cheesy at times, with some questionable character choices/developments. Overall, really good romance. (Coming from someone that doesn't typically like romances.)

Don’t waste your time. It’s pretty terrible (I listened to audiobook)

Really 3.5 stars. I love Josie Silver’s characters. She writes whole casts of folks I’d like to know. And many of the individual segments of the book were wonderful. I especially loved the section in Croatia. But I could never get into the “2nd life” sections. I think I would’ve preferred that they were memories — or if it was going to be a possible alternate universe, for there to be more...what? Incredulity on Lydia’s part, maybe? Or more ripples into the “real” world. It didn’t seem to affect her too much. Or maybe the stakes aren’t high enough? It might have been interesting to watch Lydia age a bit and for Freddie yo stay the same. But I just couldn’t get into the perfect wedding and all that.
Big pluses all around for many elements of the story. JS’s portrayal of grief struck me as honest and real.
I loved Jonah too, but did not want them to end up together. More Kris!
