What would you do if you had the opportunity to see a loved one again, if you were able to live life with them even after they were gone?
The premise of this book was SO good, and I was immediately drawn in. It gave me similar vibes to that one episode from Black Mirror where a woman has the option of bringing her boyfriend back to life through a robot.
I did find that the story did drag on throughout the book… like even 55% into the story, I found that I wasn’t as invested as I usually should be at that point. But once the part that I was dreading finally happened, I was finally hooked. I laughed, I cried, I smiled, and I died a little inside when it was finished.
Favorite quote:
“I found the old me, still in here, and the new me sitting right alongside her. We made friends.”

Didn’t get far… it was too slow and confusing. Maybe I should try to read the paper version. The audiobook just didn’t do it for me.
I've read Josie Silver's book 'One Day in December' so I had, I guess, high expectations for this novel. Sad to say that it didn't meet my expectations because I felt like it was too long and for the most part, a bit odd. I got used to it in the later half of the book but, I don't know, I couldn't wrap my head around the whole 'sleeping but living another life' type of thing. Also, the ending was cute, I won't deny it, but it felt like it was a bit out of the blue. Like I knew it was going to happen but in the whole flow of the story, it felt as if maybe they should have had even more romantic interactions perhaps before leading to what it did? Something about it just doesn't feel right, how it all happened. I don't know, maybe it's just me lol. But the writing is really nice.

I pretty much spent the entire time I listened to this book feeling like I needed to cry. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the story very much, and I think there are some good lessons to take away from it. I’m not sure the ending was realistic, but it’s what you’d hope it would be. The audio narrator is great.

Reading this story felt very realistic. I've never been in a position where I've lost a partner but I have lost my gran who I was closer to than my mother; I felt that every time I slept, she was there guiding me. This tale is one of love, loss and realizing live comes in all shapes and sizes and in the most unexpected places.
