I think this was one of the better books of the series. More intrigue. The whole series has my 10yo deeply interested. He's ready for the next one!

Though for parents with more sensitive views on certain words, there are words like "crap" used throughout.

This third book is the one I have liked best so far in the series. Rather than just encountering one or two curious creatures like books one and two, book three deals with the faerie population at large. I loved how they finally met Aunt Lucinda and learned more of Arthur Spiderwick’s history.
It was very interesting to read the line about Lucinda’s sister thinking Lucinda was cutting herself (really she was held captive by a creature). I haven’t decided if I would skip over that line or not if I was reading it out loud to my class.

As always the book ends too soon, I wish the 5 had just been combined, like in the audio books, save yourself the trouble, get these all at once if you think you will like them at all. Fast read, good illustrations, on to the next one!
