These books are ridiculously short. NOTHING happens in a single installment and there are no logical plot breaks between them. Also, every single character is insufferable in this series. Why did they split the books the way they did? It's so bad that it doesn't even feel like a cliff hanger, it just feels like each book is a choppy sentence fragment, an unfinished thought. Ugh. Will continue just for completion sake, but I am pretty disappointed.

So far all of the books in this series has been 4/5 for me. I'm binge-reading this series. Easy to read, even for grownups.

ouuu, i quite enjoyed the part where we got to see the elves, since that was definitely not in the movie, so it was something new and exciting, also the way jared handled it was quite clever.
maybe it's a bit silly to compare it to the movie, but that's the only reference point i got, and i also know that book and movie never are the same, so i did expect new and different stuff, but i severely underestimated how delighted i'd be reading it.

i was expecting something sweet but we have a much darker story with these kids fighting for their lives. i love it.
okay this one is actually better. Wow! I'm impressed for as short as these books are and literally quick reads (and listening too) they're pretty entertaining for a young age group. Even adults can enjoy these at the cleverness of them. Now onto book and audiobook 4! Hehe
