Better than a movie

This book adapted so well to TV because reading is like watching a movie. Fast paced and fun to read. I didn't guess the killer either.

An fairly good book, and even though I remembered bits of this, after seeing it on TV, I couldn't recall whodunit. The first crime book I've read in a long time. It passed muster.

Loved it. Awesome series. Blue Lightning next and can't wait. Keep these books coming Ann.

I can’t get enough of this series. I’m glad that watching the TV series first didn’t ruin my reading experience. I love that she chooses a different area/island of Shetland to “feature” in each book.

This was the book that was used as the basis for the first episodes of the TV show. It was a great choice, honestly, as we get to know more about Sandy and his family. Jimmy is just always Jimmy, steady, deliberate, and always listening. Maybe that is why I like Jimmy so much. Who doesn’t like a good listener?

mysterious

I gotta be honest, I had no clue this was book 3 so when I started I felt like the characters and places were just thrown in my face but that actually makes sense now. Honestly, it was a good mystery. There wasn’t anything exceptionally thrilling about it but it just seemed like a classic whodunnit to me! Definitely a good filler read or palette cleanser.
