I purchased this as a Blind Date with a Book, so I made sure I didn’t look further into what it was about before diving in. I have never read anything like this before. The book is very sexy and sensual and ties in pagan lore with their lives and Catholic Mass. It is a book about our innate need for love as well as temptation when we want it from someone we shouldn’t.

See I can read books when I have time to do so...
Overall, I enjoyed reading it. I particularly liked that the majority was from Poe's perspective but then had those moments where we got to see everyone's else's POV. I obviously was most intrigued by the main 3, but Becket's story seemed very interesting (and honestly everyone's character growth was entertaining). There were definitely moments where it just felt they were all very horny (a lot of times definitely did not understand all that). But there were definitely moments that added a level of mystery and anguish almost caused by Thornchapel itself - almost gave me Midsommar vibes in a weird kind of way?

3.5 Holy-fucking-smut stars.
A full on erotica-BDSM wanna-be mystery book, which I thought wouldn’t enjoy, but ohhhh boy is it intense !!

I least enjoy the pacing, the real smut starts past 70%.
