I loved the ending to this book! spoiler alert: they won but the feel wasn't all everyone lived happily ever after because some characters obviously would live forever as others wouldn't leaving a sense of loss that hadn't happened yet but you knew would eventually. also simon!!!! and that's all I'm saying because I don't want to give to much away

“Heroes aren't always the ones who win," she said. "They're the ones who lose, sometimes. But they keep fighting, they keep coming back. They don't give up. That's what makes them heroes.”

This is the concluding novel of The Mortal Instruments series and I finally read it after years of owning it. I really enjoyed it.

I’m not going to talk much about the plot since this is the concluding novel.

The beginning of this book was a bit slow for me. I found a lot of it unnecessary, though I will admit that some of it was set up for the ending. I didn’t necessarily struggle through it, but I didn’t pick it up as often as I probably should have due to it being a little slow.

Clary and Jace also kind of annoyed me in the beginning; however, that wasn’t a big deal because they annoy me from time to time. I loved them at the end though. They were just the cutest.

We got introduced to some new characters in this book, which would normally annoy me; however, it makes sense since they will be the main characters in the next series. I actually really liked them and I can’t wait to see more of them in [b:Lady Midnight|25494343|Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices, #1)|Cassandra Clare|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1460477682s/25494343.jpg|19104294].

Now this book was setting itself to be a 3 or 3.5 star book, but the last 200-250 pages were amazing! I wish this book was cut down a little because I would have easily given it 4.5 stars if the beginning was a little more fast paced.

I thought everyone’s stories wrapped up nicely and I didn’t expect to tear up a little at the end. This was the first series I fell in love with many, many years ago and I kind of hate that it is over for me. I am going to miss these characters so much and I would not be opposed to seeing them in a new adult or adult series in the future.

Overall, this was a very satisfying conclusion to a story that means so much to me.

I enjoyed this series alot. Some parts felt dragged, but ultimately I liked it.

-Didn't hate it, didn't love it but I think this is the best book in the series. The other books were so involved in the will they or won't they of Jace and Clary that finally having that resolved and removed from the plot line made this book bearable to get through.
-I still think Jace is SO BLAH—I couldn't care less about him and Clary.
-I can see myself continuing with the other books in this world because I do want to follow Emma and Julian; I loved their relationship.
-Simon losing his memories really hurt—it was the first and only time I really felt something while reading this series. I can see how Cassandra Clare's books might improve and I hope they do! This series was super cheesy/stereotypical YA but I did love all the different creatures and the wide range of characters.
-That epilogue really dragged.

This book was such a wonderful end to a spectacular installment!!!! Like I totally freaked when it came out, and although I was on vacation when I started reading it and the course of reading it was bumpy, I still felt this feeling like "this is an end". When Sebastian died, I was crying because he was so nice to Clary! And then Amatis died.... I was a sobbing mess. Like everyone else, I now have to wait for Lady Midnight...

This was a cute ending. I’m gladddd Simon’s ending was resolved because I was really about to be mad lol.

Okay and Brother Zachariah/ Jem

I absolutely loved this book! It kept me up late at night - early morning technically - crying tears of happiness and sadness.

Great story! I love the way it ended, I was satisfied with where everything & everyone left off. I was glued to this book for the day & a half I spent reading it. SO worth the wait! There even seems to be a new storyline threading it's way through this book--the saga w/ Jace & Clary may have come to an end, but I think we may see much more from the Shadowhunter world...yay!!
