Rereading this one and still loving it. An easy sell for me because I think Shaun Tan's artwork is amazing and I love animals, nature and fantasy/whimsical things.

It's a beautiful collection of short stories and vignettes held together by the idea that humans are restored by nature but don't always take care of it. I'm lucky enough to have been given the limited edition as a gift and every inch of it speaks to me!

I was inspired to reread after thinking about my c t is the greatest cat in the world and remembering that story, which is one of my favourites but the story about the moon fish is also very special

This book is so poetic. The art is so dreamy. I want to read this book out loud to people. It's so lovely.

some of the stories were amazing, soul-shattering, beautiful, ethereal pieces of art, and some I felt were just kind of meh. all of the artwork was beautiful!

I now know why Shaun Tan is so critically acclaimed, an incredible collection of stories complemented by outstanding illustrations.

I loved this. Stories about animals in the city where they shouldn't really be, accompanied by amazing illustrations. The dog story, the cat story and the one about the lung fish were three highlights.
