It is such a joy to discover by chance a new powerful voice. Though Barbara Comyns barely can be called a new voice, she is rather a forgotten genius.
I absolutely am in love with her writing style - so exquisite and charming and warm. Loved every minute I spent with her book.

Beautifully funny read in youth which saddens in the latter half of the book. The ending really rounds it out.
