Ronan and Blaire are both opening their own establishments to prove to family members that they can do things on their own. Things do not start off on the right foot and they quickly become enemies when they are constantly trying to one-up each other. When a big-name restaurant moves in across the street they call a truce and start to work together. Kiss My Cupcake is a enemies to lovers sugary romance which is told in the dual first-person point of view.
Kiss my cupcake has all of the feels, will have you laughing out loud and craving cupcakes. The tension between Ronan and Blaire as they attempt to fight their attraction is comical but when they do finally start their truce they are as sweet as a cupcake. Gramps is great at putting in his two cents without anyone knowing he is doing it. I hope that some of the side characters like Lars and Daphnie get their own books. Helena Hunting has been a TBR author of mine for a long time and I am glad I finally got to read her books and will be adding all her backlist to my TBR.

Thanks to NetGalley I was able to preview the first 4 chapters of this book for free in exchange for a honest review. Let me just say that I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of this book! Super fun and witty with just a little angsty tension thrown in makes for the perfect light, easy read. I want to be chowing down on some bourbon bacon cupcakes while sipping lemon drop martinis in adorable unicorn martini glasses with a frustratingly handsome lumberjerk thrown in for eye candy!
I really enjoyed this, it had me laughing through out it from what Blaire or Ronan would do or say. It’s definitely a fun fast read and it joined my favorites.
I loved this book! It was incredibly sweet and cute. I loved both Blair and Ronan individually and as a couple, they were even more magical. If you’re looking for a fun, lighthearted and sweet read, this is it!
I can’t stop thinking about how much I ADORED this book. Just the fluffiest story we all need in 2020.
This was a lot of fun- quick and cute and I found myself smiling often.
“…the reality of losing someone you love is so hard, especially when you don’t expect it. But this, being here and meeting you changed everything.”
What it is about:
✨ Sweet slow-burn love story
✨ Badass privileged heroine who turned down her quirky family’s wealth to pave her own way
✨ Rivals to lovers trope
✨ Think there was a slight fake-dating as well
I had few problems progressing through the first one third of the story because I had to be honest, it was quite boring even though it goes much better after that. But it was an okay read that did not leave a scorching impression to me.
Blaire is all set to open her new cupcakes and cocktails cafe, when she hears and feels a giant booming from the shop next door. When she confronts the guy doing the renovations on the bar, she has a hard time concentrating on yelling at him because he's just that beautiful. But she does manage to confront him and thus begins their antagonistic relationship. But will it stay that way?
I read through this super cute story, mostly grinning the whole way. I haven't read anything by this author before, but I will be correcting that shortly!

I usually love Helena's books as they are always a light and easy read, but there was a lot of weird things thrown into this book that just wasn't needed at all.
Blaire's weird family drama...parents switching partners with aunt and uncle? Sister stealing boyfriend? Cousin a disgusting walking hormone.
Ronan is a likeable enemy, and the banter between them has their moments, but this book just missed the mark for me. Hoping the next book I read from H.H. is better.
