I was quite doubtful of this book at first, as it's not something that I would usually read. The beginning seemed quite slow, and I was doubtful I would love it, however as the story continued and there were more clues revealed, I found myself hooked. The book deals with suicide and death, as well as love in many different forms and it was so beautiful to see Lousie Doughty pick apart what love means in a persons life. This book does swear quite often (mostly variations of "f*ck"). This book did feel a little bit slow at the beginning and there were moments when I wanted the stories pacing to hurry up, but I enjoyed reading it. I was surprised that I managed to relate to many of the characters, and shocked at how Lousie managed to fill me with emotions in a book set in the present day and a world that actually exists! I'm glad I gave this book a chance.

I feel lied to.

This is marked as a horror...this is NOT a horror. It's not even a thriller. More like a hard hitting contemporary with a focus on (CW:)
emotional and, sometimes, physical abuse
and a little bit of a mystery, and not even a good mystery. It's pretty obvious who did what in this book.

So much of it could have been cut out, the last 50-80 pages were not needed and a waste of time. Some parts in the middle too. I should have DNF'd really but here we are.

This was just not good.

I did enjoy the concept of learning the end result (ghost stuck in the station) and then the book being told almost simultaneously in the past and the present. It was too slow paced for me, it lacked the pace of successful thrillers. It covered very deep topics, suicide, DV, inaction, guilt, molestation and at times it was poignant in successfully describing the true feelings of their experiences, I felt like there was almost too much, we just jumped to the next deep topic. The characters were interesting and diverse with their own bi-stories, but again I felt too many were mentioned without enough detail to a few. But over all in was a good book, where it shines is the reveal of the main characters relationship with her boyfriend. This could be a good book for those to connect with if they had more personal connection with this type of subject matter.

This book just didn't work for me, I felt it tried to cover too many sub character plots and issues. I enjoyed the main chunk of the book being Matthews and Lisa relationship but did not enjoy the Paranormal aspects or the look into other people's life's I would have rather focused on the main plot.

I really enjoyed this but I'm not sure I would call it a thriller. Definitely not horror. I listened to the audiobook and I fully enjoyed the experience. It was like Lisa was telling me her story. This book felt quiet and lonely, but with a bit of hope. I think that was the point of the novel and for me, it succeeded.

I couldn't put this book down. It twists and turns so you are unsure of what the focus of the story is but I really enjoyed that about it. I don't want to give anything away but I encourage people to read this as it is a fab book.
