This book was neither mystery nor thriller, it was mostly just boring. I didn’t like the structure and couldn’t make myself care about anything that happened. Except for the fact that Matty sucked.
The book was incredibly dull. It started out boring, became quite interesting, than dragged for the last 150 or so pages. A lot more could have been done with the style of narration to make it far more interesting than having the appearance of a third person omniscient. The division of the book into parts could have been more purposeful. The plot and purpose of the book could have been much more clear. Not a terrible book, just sub par in every aspect.

I would not consider this a mistery book, there’s barely any of it and instead the book focuses on other themes. These I thought were well done and it actually made me really mad while Reading which I think was the point of the story. Still, it dragged too much and I wanted it to end. The character were realistic which I appreciated because they made the story feel real even though the protagonist is a ghost. The flashback reminded me to the ones in gone girl and I found them to be interesting. I also found myself really liking some of the quotes in here and I had to write them down.

It really took a while to set the context of the story, but once you get into the crux of it, the time really just flies and you want to finish it and find out more. There were also some storylines that didn’t make sense and was unnecessary but the main part about the main character’s life was really well-written.
This story is more than just a thriller.. it creates many reflection points on how we spend our lives on earth, emphasises turning points where if the main character made a different decision, things would be so vastly different, missed opportunities, unanswered questions, unresolved endings and also the different forms of love.
I would definitely reread this book for the writing and insightful points it was making - i rushed ahead quite a bit to try to find out more. The ending was also quite draggy, but it gives the reader time to stay in that fictional world and absorb the last of the wisdom the author was imparting.

This was so difficult to get through. The first quarter of the book is excruciating with her just wandering around not knowing anything about herself. And then the relationship with Matty was infuriating. The blurb was misleading I mean what was the actually point of the Thomas Warren and his children, I kept waiting for something that linked to Lisa when she was alive but nope turns out the only way the deaths are ‘connected’ is that they happened in the same place. Definitely not worth reading.
