Very cute. Not spicy, but very sweet, and I loved the nods to Cinderella while not being such an exact retelling. Having just watched Bridgerton, season 3, Cindy was played by Nicola Coughlan in my head.  đź’•

This was a super fun modern retelling of the Cinderella story! The changes to the story felt believable and only added to the story for me. My fave change was
the step family being nice to Cindy and supportive of her.
I was surprised at the storyline of a reality dating show being the plot but it makes so much sense and I ended up really loving it. Cindy being plus size was a great change and I loved how it was woven into the story and showed a lot of the issues of being plus size in the modern world. I personally loved that she took the job interview at the end instead of going back to the reality show. She needed to bet on herself instead of hoping to get picked by Henry. I am glad they got together still in the end as well, I love a HEA!

I don’t watch the bachelor and I’ve never read a book by Julie Murphy before this one. I thought the story was cute and sweet but a little too predictable. Maybe I should’ve known it would be predictable…? I did like the fact that Cindy’s stepmom and sisters are very supportive and just straight up loved her. I also like that Cindy is plus size. I would definitely consider reading another book by Murphy. But I do agree with others about the lack of depths of the other characters.
