Hilarious, creative, and acutely self-aware. Thank you Jon for accompanying me on my daily drives.
funny lighthearted fast-paced

Very funny, but of course anything with Jon Stewart is funny. :-)

interesting, funny read.

cute one liners

Everything you wanted to know about Earth but were too afraid to ask. Seriously funny!

I really enjoyed the format that Stewart decided to go with for this text. The textbook-like layout is intimidating at first (what college student wants to read yet another textbook during their summer break?) but turned out to be refreshing and compelling. Most of the text was in caption form, and at times it was difficult to decide where to start or go next, but for the most part it flowed well and was very manageable. The entire book is filled with great one-liners and sarcastic remarks, and I even laughed out loud a few times. The inclusion of a multitude of pictures, graphs, statistics tables, and various quotes from famous figures definitely added to the visual appeal as well as the weight of the author's message.
This was a well-appreciated break from the realm of normal, full-text novels. It has also given me a slightly different view of non-fiction books.
After reading reviews of Earth (The Book) and America (The Book), I decided to read this one first, as it didn't seem to garner as much praise as the other. I have to admit that after reading this book cover to cover, I'm excited for America (The Book).

Very Funny.

Glad I listened to it instead of reading it. Some parts were pretty funny (and I don't think they would have been as funny on paper), but it got a little dull at times too.
