I liked this book, but like everyone says: it's useless without the code. And since I got my copy at the library, I'm going to have to buy this on Amazon to get the full value of the book. So, I'll probably re-rate once I get that, but I do enjoy the concept. We do need to focus more on our strengths and developing those rather than focusing on our weaknesses.
The idea of a strengths focus instead of one on weaknesses was refreshing. While I found the information interesting enough, it sounded like there would be more unique information available on the website attachment. You basically only pay for the quiz if you're getting an access code, but there really isn't much else online that isn't also available in the book.
So, now I know. A great way to figure out future actions to take in your career and life. Also will help you help others. A win-win.
I read this for a class I'm taking thru my work. Very enlightening!
Great idea and probably one of the most accurate assessments I've taken. I hate that you have to but a copy of the book in order to take the assessment though. Let's be a little eco friendly and allow people to borrow the book and just pay a cheaper price for the assessment online. Seems to be a waste to have to print a book for someone to take an assessment.
I like that it also gives you tips on how to work with someone that falls into certain categories but again, unless they buy a copy and take the assessment you don't really know what those themes are for them

The intro bits were interesting but since this is library book, I couldn't take advantage of the test.
Great book, though I generally prefer other paradigms for understanding my strengths and personality (Myers Briggs, Enneagram, etc). But I did find it helpful to read through them all again and consider what stands out to me. I've still got four of five strengths the same as in 2011, and found a few others plus some secondary strengths to complement them. If you haven't thought much about your strengths before, or want to think more about how to use them in a work context, this is a great book - I always advocate building self-knowledge!
