I found the strengths finder assessment accurate and helpful to identify the themes related to what I do best/enjoy. Some of the recommendations on how to improve your most prominent themes are fairly self-evident, but I also found several that will be helpful to continue motivating me to improve on my strengths. This assessment may be helpful if you're trying to decide what type of career to go into(thought it doesn't necessarily suggest careers), what major to choose, or if you'd like to continue growing in your strengths or just accurately tell an interviewer what your strengths are.
informative
Really helpful in explaining why I am the weirdo in my workgroup, and it seems to be helping them see my strengths as necessary and not just annoying. I also like the idea of partnering up with people that balance me out.
Interesting read; My top 5: Restorative, Learner, Achiever, Responsibility, Deliberative
I was impressed by how many people told me to read this book.
Our entire management team did this together. It was helpful to better understand each other's strengths and how we can work together.
Read this for a possible education piece at my job. There is something to be said about focusing on strengths rather than weaknesses. Not sure about the validity of the 34 themes, reads a tad like Meyers-Briggs. However, the anecdotes for each one were fun to read.
Interesting read, albeit brief read.
Interesting read, albeit brief read.
Interesting in conjunction with the online assessment/ test
The book itself is fairly useless without the code to take the online quiz, and yes, I know that's annoying. But I did enjoy the quiz and liked reflecting on my top 5 strengths. I wish there were more of a community online surrounding StrengthsFinder--forums on their website or something at least--but overall, I'm pretty happy with it.
