One of the best mysteries I have ever read, and the best of this author so far. A gripping story with a frightening plot line. It's more than a search for a murderer. It's a race against time for Kurt Wallender, who doesn't know how close the deranged killer is.
Sidetracked (Kurt Wallander Series #5). By far his best in the series. This story is the first in the TV series but 4th in print. The most realistic of Wallander's investigations. Horrible topic that remains relevant today.
Oh, Kurt. You put so much pressure on yourself... I want so badly for a happy ending for you, but I doubt it's in the cards.

Recently discovered this intelligent crime solving detect via PBS and I'm now hooked. Have to read all the books and see all the episodes now!
Wallander back in his groove. After a few books that seemed to be veering aimlessly from the first couple of books, this one was crisper with a complex storyline that converged with surprises. Wallander is not as obsessed with the vagaries of life. The few stories connect and intertwine until converging at the end.
Finished my 5th Mankell's book! The ending paragraph is so sweet I can't believe it's written by a man!
