Very interesting series of examples and experiments showing how we are easily pulled in the wrong direction, even when, at least from a distance, we can easily see it's the wrong choice. It doesn't get so deeply into psychology that you feel like you're reading a text book, but gives some very interesting guidance for avoiding our shared tendency to be pulled into bad decisions.
fascinating fun look at human foibles would make a good non-fiction book discussion book
informative
reflective
It's interesting reading this book on the heels of Blink by Malcolm Gladwell. There are so many different psychological factors that influence us in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. Fascinating stuff.
Why people do dumb things - there's actually science behind this - very interesting book, very readable
An interesting topic and a enjoyable and quick read. The sibling authors do not draw any particularly ground breaking conclusions but, none-the-less, I would still recommend the book. One small point, a better, albeit not as catchy, title would be "Sway: The irresisable pull to make (apparently) irrational DECISIONS". The difference behaviors and decisions is not insignificant.
In the vein of other behavioral economics books, Sway looks at how we make decisions, and the often-flawed logic behind those decisions. A short, interesting read.
A quick, fascinating tour through our subconscious mind and its influence over our behavior. We seldom seem to be in as much control of ourselves as we think.
In this short book about human behavior, Ori and Rom Brafman describe the psychology behind our decision making. Filled with practical examples and many psychological studies, Sway is a short, fun popular science read with high entertainment value. It's hard to review a book so short and with so many different parts to it, but I can say that it will have you reevaluating the way you make choices. I found it to be an entertaining, quick read, though I think I would have preferred a hard copy rather than an audiobook of this one.
