Whilst this novel was compelling and I was interested to find out what happened it seemed very rushed, very under developed. The decisions of the main character Aimee were ludicrous... you think your dead fiancee/childhood sweetheart/ BFF may not be dead so what do you do? Get on with your life for two years before deciding to try to find him. What do you do when you're possibly in the same town he is in? Go for a drink. What do his friends do when they find out their childhood friend is possibly still alive? Nothing at all.
Most of this book was underwhelming and unbelievable.

Aimee’s fiancé James dies in a suspected fishing accident in Mexico shortly before their wedding. She tries to pick up the pieces of her life and move forward without her best friend and lover but has a strong feeling that he is still alive. She decides to try and solve the nagging feeling that something is being covered up by someone and if James is really still alive.

I enjoyed reading this book overall but at times I did feel that the story moved a little slowly and was dragged out unnecessarily. I felt for Aimee and wanted her to find happiness again in her life as she was a very young character. The ending of the story was really well done too.

This was a better read than I expected. I enjoyed the puzzle of the story, although it was at times far fetched and at times a bit boring. I think the ending was a bit rushed and a bit unexplained. I do wish the book ended before the epilogue, but it kept me interested enough that I'll probably read the next one in the series.

Captivating from the beginning. This was a quick, engaging read full of surprises.

While I loved the narrative of a woman figuring out how to go forward when her life is upended, the love story didn't quite work for me.

Great read, I feel like the end was a bit cut short and could have been expanded on but overall I enjoyed this.

Wandering on tangents that don't matter, never sinking it's teeth into the interesting bits. Potential wasted.

Enjoyable fast read. The story was well paced, the characters were enjoyable albeit somewhat flat, and the plot was engaging. It was a fairly predictable story, but I found myself enjoying it nonetheless. Would recommend as a good beach read.
