Amazing, albeit the end felt a bit rushed (only like the last sentence but maybe I just didn't want it to end). Overall, amazing romance epos that isn't too on the nose with the romance and full of action and brilliant world-building.

Definitely one of the best YA fantasy books I’ve read. I’m sad that I waited so long to wait to read this series. I loved it.
The slow burn romance, the magic system, and the evolution of Vhalla are probably my favorite part. I also really liked how we got to see Aldrik and Vhalla work through each of their problems.

A young woman transforms from a library apprentice to a sorcerer in this awesome new adult romance-fantasy series.
I devoured the Air Awakens series over a week. Five books in one week! I’ve owned the first one for ages, finally sitting down to read it this past July. While the beginning is BEYOND slow, the rest of the series more than makes up for the start. Vhalla and Aldrick are – how should we put it? – not terribly interesting in the start of the series. Vhalla is your typical “good girl” and Aldrick your typical “bad boy” archetypes. It’s not until they begin growing, both as individuals and as a couple, I found myself invested in their story. Their transformation during the series is dramatic and earned.
Secondary characters are well-developed, particularly those characters involved in multiple novels. I’d be cautious at giving my heart to any of the characters. All of them – including our leads – are placed in perilous situations throughout the series. Sometimes characters survive with emotional and physical scars, while others meet a grisly fate. *tears* Creating a series with life or death stakes requires, well, life and death stakes. I appreciate the authenticity Ms. Kova cultivates by creating a series where beloved character can, and do, die.
The world building is top notch. The magic system is comprised of elemental magic – air, water, fire, and earth (very similar to The Last Airbender anime). Each region of the continent maintains its own nuances as do the people from those regions. Events in the books build until the dramatic conclusion. While I bought each book separately, I highly recommend purchasing the complete series on Amazon. Trust me – you will want to read them all!
tl;dr Fantastic world building, epic romance, and earned character development makes this life-and-death series a must read.

Felt VERY rushed. MCs seems dissociated - which does make sense considering the trauma they are going through but it doesn't seem to translate to the page very well

This was a good ending to the series. Everything was wrapped up pretty nicely but also left little hints about the spinn off. It wasn't my favorite though, but still pretty up there. Overall, I really had a good time rereading it. I really don't know what I missed so much the first time reading it. Maybe I wasn't in the right mood or something, but I'm glad I gave it a second change. Will for sure be reading the daughter's book. It will be fun to see how her story will play out.
Rating: 3,5 (Feels like a 4 is too much)

I think this my favorite book in the series. (Even if it felt like ages to finish it)
This series was a fun read. It's a bit different from other series I have read. More on the slower side and very character driven. I 'm debating if I'm gonna read the spin-off book about their child, but we will see later.
Anyway, I don't have the energy to do a better review. It was a fun time, but I'm also glad to have been done with it.

I didn’t write reviews of each book in this series since I read them in quick succession. The first book had some potential. The rest of the series had me waffling between - I need to find out what happens AND I’m not reading the next book this isn’t that good. The final book really became a lot darker and more interesting but it still read like a very immature YA series. Zero spice. And the characters read like a 10 year old’s version of grown ups. Now, that’s a terrible review but I did stick with it for the whole 5 books so there were some positives too. The fantasy portion was interesting and offered a different take on magic, etc. The villains were definitely terrible and the author wasn’t afraid to kill off characters that seemed pretty integral to the plot. So, I think I’d say it was a giant “meh” from me but to each their own.

What an ending to a really fun (and occasionally heartbreaking) series. As a whole, this series kept me locked in its grasp the entire time. I truly could not put any of the books down, this one included, and when I had to, all I could think about was the next moment I would be able to! I loved the characters and the relationships that formed among them. While I was upset when we lost a few good ones along the way, overall, it was a really fun experience :)
Spoiler
I would really love to hear that Daniel survived all this and is on his way to recovery, though. His whole story arc hurt my heart a lot.cloudsniffer's review against another edition

Unfortunately the series never regained the same level after the drop in quality in Earth's End. Nevertheless this was still good ending. It would seem that author have finally learned to flesh out some of the existing secondary characters(Jax <3 And Elecia), instead of introducing the one dimensional horde of the new ones every book.
