One of the best books I hav read in a long time. Personally I loved that it was written in Nottingham vernacular, it made it feel very intimate and immersive. Although it is autobiographical it is written like fiction which I enjoyed, I don't like when autobiographies feel like a factual retelling of events, I want to enjoy the story. One of the best examples of trans representation I've ever read.

I just loved this. Beginning to end. Impeccable, important and brave. Just such a lovable narrative voice it was perfect.

Homey and familiar, but also eye opening and new, pushing me back to a generation between my parents and I, in a town so familiar. Thank you Paris Lees for writing this and especially for writing it in our accent. This is representation, really.

As a trans reader, this book is invaluable: we exist, we've always existed, we will always exist. And not framed through the class lens that usually typefies our stories. I've finished this book with an aching anxiety about living in this fraught world, but also feel seen and held as only one of my sister's really can see and hold me.
