**My thanks to NetGalley and All NightReads for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**
I have not read anything by this author before and am now glad that I decided to try her out.
The book starts on the night of the accident, then fast forwards two years later when Charlotte (Lottie) and her twin brother Will are unloading the car to start their new adventures at college.
There is lots of that New Adult angst as at least four of our characters have issues. Charlotte is still dealing with the trauma from having her best friend dramatically altered. Zan is dealing with the aftermath of the accident where his brother cannot remember a thing.
Lottie makes friends very easily, but is shocked when she finds the two boys at her college that she had hoped never to see again and hates.
There is lots of tension between Lottie and Zan, and Zan seems to act like the bigger man from the beginning even if he slips up once or twice.
The chemistry between the two builds slowly until Lottie is told by her brother, that perhaps there is more between Zan and herself than hate.
I love how slow Zan is willing to take things, all at Lotties pace until she feels ready to go public and the love really shows between the two.
Would have loved more of an epilogue to see how the pair get on further down the line.

I enjoyed this book. As soon as I got through the first half. The first half was a bit boring with too much detail and too many characters. I understand that Lottie is meeting new friends and her brother has friends, etc, etc, but do we need to know so much about them with all these tangents? I don't think so. I also understand that she wants to have a group of friends at the end, and of course a spin off/sequel but I thought it was too much and took away from the point of the story.
There were also an unusually large amount of sibling pairs in this book. Too many inter-relationships overall, though my favorite banter was between Lottie and her brother Will. They were very funny, and cute, and caring.
Now on to the second part. I loved Zan! He is so tortured and broken and has been through so much, and is pining away for Lottie, who loathes him. I totally fell for him. I loved that he wasn't a total alpha bad ass, as most of the books out now describe the guy. He's just a great guy who tried to do the right thing and got totally screwed. I loved the interaction between Lottie and Zan and really enjoyed the rest of the book.
And I will read the next one!

Charlotte, or Lottie, was in high school when her best friend Lexi drove off from a party with brothers Zack and Zan Parker. Zan was driving, and they got into an accident in which the two boys walked away, but Lexi suffered moderate brain damage.
Two years later, Charlotte ends up at the same college where Zack and Zan are attending. And while she finds Zack hasn't changed much at all, Zan is not the guy she though he was--in fact, he's not like any guy she's met before. The two both have some issues to get past, but can they do it in each other's arms?
Oh my God. I'm mad at so much about this book, I don't even know where to begin.
I didn't like one character in this novel. Not. A. Single. One. While Lottie tries to put up a front like she doesn't care about anything at all, in reality all it takes is the one guy she thought she hated to tell her she's pretty, and she's all over him. Really...that's literally what happened. Lottie states time and time again that she hates Zan, but one day he calls her pretty and she stops in her tracks and begins to see him in a different light. I found this very sad, but it's not the worst thing about their relationship. Zan is a pushover, he lets Lottie do and say whatever she wants to him before they are on speaking terms again. And even though she is ruthlessly mean to him, he believes it's OK and says he deserves whatever she throws at him. Every character in the book is like this--they all have a martyr/guilt complex, blaming themselves for things that they had no control over at all. It's very annoying.
Most of the book is very very slow, and soooo repetitive. Zan calls Lottie "pretty girl" so much it begins to come across as creepy. And there are so many mentions of masturbation, that it felt like the author was trying hard to be edgy and added that factor to make sure the book was "new adult." The sex scene was kind of unbelievable, in which I mean no one's first time goes that way. The final thing that got on my nerves was the poetry, which I found intrusive and not really related to the flow of the story at all.
So why did I even finish the book? Honestly, I don't know. I guess because I started it, and I was more than 50% done by the time I truly started hating all these characters. I was hoping the end would redeem it somewhat, but I found it predictable and kind of sad. The next book in this series is about two totally different characters, so I haven't made up my mind about whether or not I will read it yet. If it's anything like Deeper We Fall, I'll definitely have to pass.

Deeper We Fall was exactly what I want New Adult novels to read like. The characters were believable and sympathetic. The book was primarily character based although there were scenes with pure romance.
I liked that the book started off two years earlier and gave us some insight into how Lexie was before the accident. I also really enjoyed the dual point of view between Lottie and Zan. That’s very rare as usually I don’t feel it’s done right, so that’s a big thumbs up for Chelsea M. Cameron. I never felt like I was being rushed out of one point of view and into the other.
Charlotte was quirky and fun; I really enjoyed her perspective. She was absolutely loyal to her friends, and that made her endearing to me. Charlotte was not quick to forgive, and that made her unique. She wasn’t willing to let go of her grudge against Zan and Zack. I understood why she didn’t want to let it go; I would’ve hard a time forgiving the two of them. I really liked that Charlotte was willing to admit that she was unreasonable, and that she should’ve forgiven Zan sooner.
Zan was very sweet and broken. I liked that he felt guilty, because I think anyone in his position would. I agreed with Miss Carole and Lottie that he should stop blaming himself, but I understood why he did. I also enjoyed that even though he was a man whore, he was willing to wait for Lottie. Being able to see things from his perspective was nice, and I think it helped me to understand him. Zan was so quiet it would’ve been easy to mistake that for indifference.
I think that Chelsea M. Cameron had the perfect setting for Deeper We Fall, Maine in the fall and winter sounds absolutely beautiful. It also sounds freezing, and so it really helped me to be able to picture the scenes with Zan running. I also liked that as spring came, Zan and Lottie were together. I really enjoyed that this book had a happy ending.
I would give this book 4 out of 5 stars, because Chelsea M. Cameron did the point of view changes so well. I liked that Zan and Lottie were able to overcome everything that came their way. I’m really looking forward to the next installment Faster We Burn, and some of the other characters getting their happy ending

Oh Deeper We Fall how I enjoyed you. What a great read. I wasn't sure how much I would like it going into it, but I am glad I gave it a try. Zan was just heartbreaking to read. I loved him so much right from the beginning and everything he tries to do. Oh, I felt for him and how everything played out for him thus far. He is so much like Charlotte and they are so great together. Oh, such a wonderful story.
Two years ago Charlotte's best friend was in a car accident with Zack and Zan. Zack, who is a horrible person, but always seems to get all the girls, was in the car with Lottie's bff and Zan, who was driving. There is so much hurt and heartbreak there with Charlotte not really able to move on from what happened. Her bff will never be the same and she blames herself. She should have been able to stop it, even though she did everything she could. She always takes on responsibility for things she doesn't have control over. Much like Zan seems to do.
Zan has had a rough two years. He has paid for what he has done, but in some ways he is still paying for it. He has had a crush on Charlotte forever, but he never knew how to approach her. He is not a talker, he is very quiet, and he just doesn't know what to say. He tried that fateful night to finally say something to her, but it just doesn't work out. Then everything changed and now she hates him. Or so she says. But there is still something there. And what would she say if she knew the truth? Zan has been picking up after Zack for so long he doesn't know any different. And when Zack makes mistakes Zan feels responsible, even though Zan doesn't have anything to do with it.
Oh these two. They both take on so much responsibility for other and blame themselves for others mistakes. If only they would have done something, if only they would have said something or done something differently. If only. The two of them...oh they got to me. Zan is such a sweet, kind person. He lets Charlotte yell at him. He lets her do whatever she needs to because he knows how much hurt that night caused her. Only she seems to maybe not really hate him as much as he first thought. It seems like she might actually like him...oh it was a rough ride. Lots of ups and downs, lot of Charlotte not being able to reconcile what she is feeling and what she thinks she should feel. Lots of me just wanting good things to finally start happening to Zan. Lots of great story to read.
Through it all, through Zan and Charlotte trying to figure everything out, you also have Zack who is a horrible person stirring up drama. He just does whatever he wants and doesn't care about others. If he wants something too bad if you say no. He really needed Zan to stop cleaning up his messes. He needed to start taking responsibility for his atrocious behavior. I am glad he got what was coming to him in the end. It was a really great read and I can't wait to read the secondary character's stories! I hope they are just as good as this one was.

"Remember; Elizabeth fell for Mr. Darcy, Beauty fell for the Beast and Scarlet fell for Rhett."
I don't know where to begin with this review. From the very beginning I was hooked because the characters were captivating from the very first page of the book. There really wasn't anything special that happened other than the accident but my attention was enthralled from the very beginning to the very end.
Lottie is an amazing character full of sarcasm and wit that made me love her from the very beginning. She was also a twin with her brother Will. They made the perfect little package along with their gay friend Simon.
Lottie was also a fellow book lover that made me completely gush over her character.
The book starts off with the night that her friend Lexie was in the car accident and the event that lead up to it. After that it fast forwards to the first day of college and Lottie and Will setting up their rooms. Once Lexie meets her roommate Katie she knew she was in for a long year because the squeeing pink loving girl was a little too much for Lexie to handle.
"Wow, it really is awful. It's like she murdered a Muppet and made pillows out of its pelt"
BUT that is not the worst of it, Lottie soon finds out that Katie's boyfriend is someone that she thought was still back at home and not on the same campus as her.
Zack and Zan end up being in the same college as Lottie and she doesn't know how to feel. She thinks Zack is the biggest creep she has ever had the misfortune to know and she always thought Zan was a little weird but never got the creep out vibe from him.
This story goes back and forth from Zan's and Lottie's POV.
You understand Lottie's pain and sympathize with her but you also feel that Zan has had enough turmoil in his life and you want Lottie to give him a break. Zan has always loved Lottie since he started to really realize girls existed and you see how much pain he endures knowing he irrevocably shattered her life with just one night. With the help of a kick-ass, don't take no shit social worker, Zan realizes that he is worth more and starts applying himself in school, life, and trying to get Lottie to forgive him.
When Lottie starts to see the real Zan from the fog of hate and pain she realizes what the real Zan is all about and you are rooting for them to accept one another and to forgive and more forward.
Even though Lottie's mom wasn't really present in the book I did find it funny when she would give Lottie advice about life by giving her books to read. That sounds like a good parenting tip I'll have to remember when my daughter is a raging hormone riddled teen.
"Great. I'd insulted To Kill A Mocking Bird and made mom mad. It was worse than if I't take the Lord's name in vain"
"For when I liked a boy who didn't like me back, she handed me Jane Austen. When I was all moody and hated the world, I got Poe and lots of other dark poetry to soothe my angst."
As Lottie learns to forgive Zan and his part in the accident he falls even more for her while Lottie keeps a distance because she just can't fall for the guy who caused so much pain in her life..
""That was before I knew what it was like to lose you."
"In all fairness, you never really had me.""
But forgiveness is a powerful thing and once it is truly accepted, maybe anything can be possible...
If you like books about forgiveness, the power of friendship, love, redemption, and acceptance then you will love this book as much as I did. It's powerful and you realize that sometimes things aren't always as they seem..
I give this book a 4.5/5 and I recommend it to anyone

Let me just start off by saying that I’m extremely glad I got this book for free on Kindle and didn’t waste my money on it. Deeper We Fall reminded me why I don’t read self-published books. There were so many things I absolutely hated about Deeper We Fall. I’m honestly amazed I even finished it and I’m kind of kicking myself for wasting so much time with it.
Pros:
The only good thing this book had going for it was the beginning. It started off strong, I’ll give it that. I wanted to know more about what happened after the accident and the secrets surrounding the accident. It was pretty easy to figure out what the secret about the accident was though so my curiosity didn’t last too long.
Cons:
Characters: I didn’t like most of the main characters. Will and Simon were probably the exceptions. They were funny and I loved how they treated Charlotte. Will was a great brother and Simon was basically brother number two. They were adorable. Charlotte, however, was whiny and annoying and extremely naive. She blamed herself for the accident even though she wasn’t even in the car. She did everything she could to stop her friend from getting in the car, short of dragging her away. There was nothing she could have done and she constantly beat herself up about it. Not just herself though. She treated Zan and Zack Parker like crap for the accident. Zack was totally to blame but Zan was pretty much an innocent bystander even though he was driving the car. I could also understand her hostility toward Zack because he was a total douchebag. Her attitude toward Zan was just mean though. And for her to then start falling for him just made no sense. Zan was annoying because he was so obsessed with Charlotte. I didn’t find his behavior attractive. In fact, it was a little stalkerish. He claimed to be in love with her but he never even had a conversation with her before the accident. That’s not love, that’s obsession.
Romance: Okay let’s get into the romance a little more. Zan and Charlotte obviously have something going on and it was the dumbest thing I have ever read. First, Charlotte is a giant bitch to Zan. She was never once nice to him and yet he loved her. Or at least claimed he did. Then when they do finally start something, he lets her call all the shots and she’s not willing to let anyone know about them. And Zan is fine with that. He doesn’t want to scare her off so he just lets her walk all over him. I’m all for men and women being equal in relationships and that goes for this situation too. Zan had no control over what they did or didn’t do. I hated that.
Story: The story dragged for so long. There was so much unnecessary information. Nothing even happened with Charlotte and Zan for more than half of the book. I’m sorry, if there is supposed to be some big important romance in a book, it should happen before I get 70% of the way through the book. Also, there was pretty much nothing else going on other than this romance that I was pretty sure was never going to happen. There were a few small side stories which I knew were going to be excuses to have more books with these characters but they were pretty much all tied up pretty quickly and didn’t hold my interest. Everything about this book was predictable.
Overall, I’m just going to stop because if I don’t, I’ll rant for 5 more pages. I don’t recommend reading this one but it’s free on Kindle if you do decide to pick it up for some reason. It seems like other readers have really enjoyed it so maybe it’s just that this one was not for me.

I loved this book and loved zan. At first Lottie was such a bitch in the beginning but i can understand why. But once they got together it was such a sweet and great love story. Zack was one of the biggest jerks I have ever read about. I amazes me that him and Zan are brothers and Zan is such a sweetheart. I really felt bad for him and his loyalty to Zack was admirable even though Zack definitely did not deserve it at all. I liked Katie even though she kind of came off slutt. Zack of course treated her like crap and I felt so bad for her. I also liked Stryker too. I can't wait to read Katie and Stryker's story and I look forward to seeing how Zan and Lottie are doing.

Deeper We Fall, for me, is a novel that should be very good and is very good, but I just don't feel it. I think it's just a bit above normal. There were moments that I liked, yet there were also moments that I hated and was annoyed at. It was interesting, but not interesting enough to hold my attention. I kept putting it down, and it took me several days to finish it. I wanted to like this more, I really do, but I just don't know why I don't. There were some really great lines from this novel that highlighted, but aside from that, I read through this novel being on the neutral side of things instead of hating it or loving it.
I hate when I say I'm going to write a review but I just can't find the words...
THIS book is fabulous! It is heartbreaking, sexy, funny...all the things you would expect from a book written about kids just starting their first year away at college.
The kicker? These kids have serious issues! A story about how one extremely stupid mistake can change so many lives forever. About how covering up for people is not always the best route to take, how standing up for yourself and taking control of your life is a hard but very necessary life skill to learn.
Not one to spoil storylines and give plots away I will just tell you to read Deeper We Fall..I think you will love this story, I know I did.
**By the way I <3 Chelsea!! If you are a Twitter person follow her there, she makes me laugh daily :)
