Oh how I wish this had been finished! It is one of my favorites. It’s audio was at the end of the recording of Lady Susan I listened too. I loved it although I got pulled over by the cops while listening

This unfinished novel consists only of a ball scene, which makes me wonder if Austen started there and was planning to write both backward and forward. Regardless, delightful and more interesting than her other unfinished novel (Sandition).

Think I read the original unfinished version. Short but sweet, would have been a good story had it been finished.

Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy this too much. The weird punctuation made reading it kind of hard and I didn’t love any of the characters or find them particularly interesting. However, this being a very early and unfinished work of Austen’s, it was interesting to see the seeds of later characters and plotlines beginning to take shape in this book.
