I thought this was best to read as if you were picking up a magazine from the 1920s (when this book was written) and reading a comic. A sort of retro-futurism experience. The story is campy but fun. The characters are almost caricatures yet good set pieces. Where this Tolstoy really takes big swings though is in his prose. A lot of times I felt a clear and vivid picture of each scene, with colorful and vibrant descriptions. A lot of other times I was left thinking wtf is going on here. Overall it is an enjoyable read and doesn't take itself too seriously.

I loved the book, but BOY do I hate politics, especially space politics. The same reason this book doesn’t have 5 stars is the same reason I hate the Star Wars prequels.... ALL.. THE... SPACE POLITICSSS...

Non particolarmente brillante, devo riconfermare il fatto che non apprezzo chissà quanto i russi, non l'ho trovato molto originale ma ho apprezzato molto il worldbuilding

წიგნი აშკარად ინტერგალაქტიკურ სიყვარულზეა და არა საბჭოთა მარსზე. თითქოს ამ ყველაფერში ძალდატანებითაა შეტენილი აგიტატორი წითელარმიელი გმირი -გუსევი; ახალ ცივილიზაციაში მოხვედრისთანავე არიქა მოსკოვში დავრეკოთო რომ გაიძახის, მთავარ გმირს -ლოსს გიჟი ჰგონია. არც გუსევის ძალისხმევა ჩაერიოს მარსის რევოლუციაში იღებს არანაირ შედეგს. რომ არა ფაქიზი პოლიტიკური გარემო, წიგნს სხვა და უკეთესი ფორმა ექნებოდა. პ.ს. წიგნში ვხვდებით ატლანტიდელების ცივილიზაციის ერთ-ერთი ყველაზე საინტერესო ალტერნატიულ ისტორიას.
