I was hooked on this story from the beginning (pardon the pun) it reels you in and doesn't let go until the end, this is a good long read and I loved everything about it especially Avery and Jace. I'm so glad that Lucy is getting her own book she's great and needs her own happy ever after.

Wow this book was outstanding! Toni Aleo blew me away once again. This story brought me on a journey of heartbreak, but also a journey of love and sacrifice. Was Jace and Avery's love story perfect... Hell no, but whose is? Yes they had their ups and downs. They had pasts that occasionally got in the way, but they always found their way back to each other. Their love was strong and nothing would get in the way of that.
Avery, damn this girl is strong and inspiring. Even with the shit hand she was dealt, she made something of herself. She got up everyday, determined to make her life the best if could possibly be and it only got easier with Jace in her life.
Jace, this man is something else. He started out at this 'wannabe player' not a care in the world, boy. But he grew into a man through this book. He loved Avery something fierce and when push came to shove he stepped up and took matters into his hands and did what he had to do to support his love.
This story tore me to pieces, made me feel these deep emotions like I was going on this crazy roller coaster with these characters.
I am extremely impressed and inspired by this book and this series and can, without a doubt say that Toni Aleo is officially one of my favorite authors!! A gigantic five stars for the book and the series as a whole! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved this book, I love all of Toni Aleo's books tho!! I thought that Jace was this cocky little shit and reading his story, I was happy to see that even tho he is that, he's also this great guy who doesn't want any of the people he loves to hurt.. Avery, her story was sad, but I'm glad she rose like a Phoenix..

I LOVED THIS STORY

It's currently 4am and I've just finished reading this. First, I always enjoy reading Toni Aleo stories wether it's a 2 star writing or a 5 star one. She always keeps me entertained and I generally love the plots. I also think she's one of the best authors when it comes to writing hockey romance novels.

Now lets talk about my favorite Sinclair brother, Jace. I love this kid man. He's the baby of the three brothers which means he deals with the brunt of the teasing. In book one he just milks all the adoration his mother gives him and it's so stinking adorable. He's in my swoon worthy men shelf because he really made me feel that way. I'm rarely sold on the insta romance, but I swear to god I would've fallen for his lines too. He's so disgustingly sappy I love it. I also love how much teasing he gets for it too. His relationship with his family is amazing. A family man, great lover, and smooth talker makes him nearly perfect. There's a specific part in this book when Jace talks about Avery and I knew he would be the best. I have a list of book boyfriends in my head and Jace is going on it this instant.

I'm going to come out and say that I really love Avery too. She's a strong ass woman and deserves praise for it. She's had such an unfortunate life being in the shadow of her siblings. I really feel so sad for her when we finally get to know her story. She has some rough edges, but you can't completely fault her. By the end of this book I was so proud of how far she came as a character.

Like I said I'm not into quick love stories. However, here I am eating my words. Their relationship is fast paced, but for some reason it feels perfect. I feel the chemistry and love between them. So far in this series they are my favorite couple. It might also be that when conflict arrives it's both of their faults. I can't find a way to blame one more than the other. It also helps that they're good at coming back together which makes happy.

I love hockey man. I love the way Aleo integrates hockey and romance and so much drama. 100% recommend this book.

I started out thinking Jayden's story was my favorite...but Jace.... He steps up so much in this story, it is everything. I love this story!

Oh no... The only reason I skipped part 2 of this series was cause I thought Jayden was still talking to his dad. Now I find out that it's actually Jace... God no... No. No. No.
Why??!!
I was contemplating quitting...

But I didn't and that was a damn good decision...
Sure, the ending riled me up again because the heroine forgives way too easily. Plus, there is no real justice and I hate that. If I were her, oh dear, things would have been sooo different. Her dad? Her mom? She calls what they do trying?? Ha ha... I couldn't and wouldn't have forgiven them. And I am mad that she did.

Other than that, very cute book.
Loved Jace as a boyfriend.
Liked the plot. There was quite a lot going on.
Loved the minor characters.

One problem, though... Now I gotta read the second instalment as well... :-)

Hockey star baby Jace meets singer Avery. I loved Jace throughout this series. He is so fun and carefree. I liked how he met Avery and how they initially get together so quickly and seamlessly. That first hook up was hot!

Things got a bit angsty and serious from that point onwards and the remaining story only gets three stars from me. I thought the author handled the topic of mental illness sensitivity but it's not really my thing: too heavy. Avery had a shit family; often unbelievably shit. I mean come on! Can a family be that mean? Probably. But it sucked. I just wanted her to be happy! Too much drama and sadness for me. I did enjoy Jace's banter though. I worried he would be dragged down by all the seriousness of Avery but I guess the two balanced each other out so it worked.

The ending was not quite me either. They are so young. I found it a bit hard to be truly happy for them. I'd prefer something a bit fluffier. But that it totally just me. I think this series is great. I really loved all of it!
