Hanajima's backstory and the visit to Kazuma's house are the highlights here. Nice to see Machi, Kakeru and Rin finally join in the story properly.

maybe it's just me, but the writing in this one seemed better than in any of the previous volumes. i found the story so engaging- just focusing on the characters i already know instead of introducing another crazy sohma. shigure is absolutely hilarious in this one and tohru finally yells at kyo and yuki to stop fighting, while brandishing a hot iron. it's about time.

anyways, it's summer vacation and the group is getting ready to go on vacation. yuki is starting his student council duties with a couple of insanos, then we get an incredible flashback on the childhood of hana-chan and how she made friends with tohru and uo-chan, and why she's goth. then kyo takes tohru to his teacher's house for dinner, but shishou gets called away by kyo's father and we find out what will happen to kyo after he graduates high school! we also meet shishou's other student/secretary, kunimitsu. and in the end, a window mysteriously breaks and a mysterious person mysteriously appears to visit shigure...

ooh!

Wow! This was a lot to unpack! I am unsure of where to start! I mean whose trauma do  we talk about first!? Hana's past? Kyo's shitty future? Also Rin's and Shigg???? WHAT !?!?!
