I’ve never been more delighted to be confused my a book- I was flipping down corners of every hint, I probably would’ve thrown a red string theory wall up if anyone was reading it with me.
That being said, the amount of times I yelled out loud in sheer frustration was a couple, the amount of times I yelled out loud in excitement was a few more times than that, and one extra special time I nearly threw my book across the room because Muir just dropped what may have been the most hair pulling, teeth gritting, WORST dad-jokey dad joke of all time. (Of course, there’s more than just one)
It’s a great mystery, but I do wish there were a few more hints in the earlier parts of the story to provide some context because there were a Lot of things being set up that the readers didn’t have any inkling of, and I would’ve liked more of that to hint towards when it’s all pulled together
And somebody please get these characters therapy

I'm not entirely sure what happened between the first and the second book, and it's not like I took that much time between the books, but there was such a big disconnect between me and the story this time around.
I truly think that a reread will change that (maybe even rereading this in german, to not overwhelm my brain that much), now that I at least have a tiny bit of an understanding what is actually going on in this book. I think.
I love Harrow and I love how much the focus was on her this time around. But I can't say much about the story itself cause THE CONFUSION.
