Aaawwwwwww, how could I not fall totally for Jason? Poor, sweet guy. And, serious kudos to the author for taking his trauma seriously and not making it insta-disappear which others might've. I jumped straight into this book right after finishing Marcus and Brian's story so I was eager to see Alex and Jason get the happiness the other two have found.
I wish for everyone to have a best friend like Brian. Just saying. If it wasn't for him, I'm not so sure Jason would've survived. Of course, I also wish for everyone to have an Alex in their life. Hot, tattoo shop owner, on the back of a motorcycle. Yum!
Needless to say this was an equally sweet and VERY hot addition to the story. Alex was so gentle and patient and Jason worked so hard on his fears.

I’m wondering how Hank knew his car/license plate if they met in the club and never went to it. Also I’d bet you have to offer proof of ownership to report a stolen vehicle, though that’s a minor detail. The brothers shouldn’t have gone to the parents’ house when Jason went there to get away from them-he could have woken and known they were there. They also pushed a few other times too, one of which was Marcus’ presence. And it’s dumb how Jason is so afraid Alex won’t want him if he knew the truth when it’s pretty obvious what happened with their “taking it slow.” Or the shower scene with him rubbing against Jason’s back reminding him of bad things...he must think Alex is a moron. But he’s a moron to open the door within checking who’s there, especially after what happened to him. The epilogue wasn’t that great. Still, I liked it overall. Read on Overdrive

In a lot of ways this book was just too short for the kind of trauma that Jason was dealing with. Sure he's drawn to Alex as his mate, but his reactions upon first meeting the bigger man were so strong the rest of the story fell a little flat for me as I didn't really get to see with Jason deal with those feelings. Alex was patient with him and was willing to stand by and wait. But, we knew time was passing because we were told time had passed. We didn't really get to experience Jason dealing with the trauma and choosing a different way.
This series is one of those shifter series that's like wafer cookie. It's dessert so you're expecting something sweet and that it will satisfy that sugar craving for you. But then it's such a thin wispy thing that while you got a little hit of what you wanted, you still were left wanting more.

I didn't like this one as much as the first one. I loved the friendship between Jason and Brian, but the relationship happened way too quickly, especially after everything Jason has just been through. He was so against being around his mate because of what happened to him, then a couple of weeks later he is fine, and things then move along really quickly. Jason still suffers from the aftereffects of what happened to him, like his nightmares, but he is now fine with Alex being near him. I know they are mates and have that pull to each other, but things happen to quickly for me.
Alex and Jason are very sweet together, and I did love how Jason helped him through the hard times. They mated pretty quick, and then the physical side of things happened too soon for me. I also didn't like how what happened to Jason was used as a continued plot point. He didn't need to go through that twice, and neither did the readers.

Jason is raped, and we see him go through the aftereffects of that. He suffers from nightmares and flashbacks. We don't see it happen on page, but we are told about it. It almost happens again near the end. Jason's recovery happens pretty quickly and not true to life. The rape is used as a continued plot point.hippiedaizy's review against another edition

Eh. I was really looking forward to this after Marcus and Brian's story. Jason Matthews is Brian's best friend. Jason can't stand the pack he's always been in after Brian was kicked out for being gay, so he decides to call up his Brian to see if he can visit for a bit. Once that plan went into motion, he decided to go out. Well that's when things went to shit.
Jason after that dreadful day was so believable. It made my heart hurt and I was in tears, just by how he was acting. I didn't even know how bad he was, until he told Brian. Yes, I would have liked to have had him talk about it sooner (especially with Alex), but I get trying to block it out and not wanting to remember/talk about it.
Alex, the Alpha of the new pack Brian is in, realizes that Jason is his mate. He freaking TACKLES him. Could not he see how hurt Jason was? Alex really pissed me off. Then, Jason decides to stay with Alex's parents to get away from all the big men that live with Brian. He was there for what? 10 minutes? before Alex rallies the troops and heads off to his parents house. Ummm...he went there to get away. Did I mention that Alex pissed me off? He redeemed himself, but still the beginning Alex was not a welcome one.
The climax, could have been more.
Can I just say that Marcus pissed me off in the beginning too? Growling at Jason because Brian was hugging him while he cried. Give me a break. Possessiveness is one thing, but being an inconsiderate bastard is an entirely different thing. Oh, I am sorry, best friend of 20 years, my mate is possessive and jealous and won't let me comfort you while you cry your eyes out after being violently attacked and sexually assaulted. Screw you, Marcus!
Overall, I liked it :)

I would have also have liked Jason spot Hank in town following him or something, instead of just Hank watching and the hairs on the backs of their necks stand. Does Marcus feel bad giving Hank Jason's location? Can I just say that Marcus pissed me off in the beginning too? Growling at Jason because Brian was hugging him while he cried. Give me a break. Jason is Brian's BF and after being assaulted, raped then chucked out of pack for being spotted at a gay club. He finally travels to where Brian now lives with his mate and his three sexy werewolf brothers. As soon as Brian gets to house he knows Alex is his mate and try's to make a run for it. Brian has a lot of trauma to work through Alex is very sweet and doesn't pressure him into mating. Loved the fact Alex is a tattooist and piecer very sexy. Great HEA.

This novel was a lot better than its predecessor, probably because the characters felt more real to me. However, another character still had the 'female' feel to him-- did not like that!

Look, gay shifter romance is my guilty pleasure and I DON'T want any rape in it - especially if it a plot device. So the book kinda lost me.
Also, something bothers me. I felt it a bit in book one but much more in this one: the omegas do the cleaning and cooking while the alphas sit. I wouldn't have care that much if it had been established it was that king of omegaverse. But no and no alphas proposed to their mate if he wanted some help or anything. I don't know, the more I was reading the more it bothered me.
Anyways, seeing the review for book 3, I'll probably stop here.

This one was weak.
-The romance is meh. I didn't feel that "mates crazy love", I felt more like "well, you're hot and want me, lets be together"
-the relationship changes from "don't touch me" to "oh god, please!!" in matter of 5 pages or so. A person who suffered what he suffered doesn't change so quickly like that. It takes time to heal.
And the thing that bothered me more:
Jason has 168cm and Alex has 196cm. So how can they kiss and at the same time have their dicks perfectly aligned? They have almost fricking 30cm of height difference. Something is wrong here!
I know I complain a lot, but in the overall it was a good "feel good and relax" book.
{My english sucks, but I try}
