Picked up because I was in a mood for zombies around when The Last of Us season 2 was coming out. This was more geopolitical spec fic (but based on 2006 geopolitics) than zombie thriller, and I think that’s good, I’m glad it embraced that. Interesting to read with the hindsight of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Because it’s written as an oral history series of recorded interviews, the audiobook is a higher form for this than paper copy.

Interesting read; not engrossing; definitely not similar to the movie. Since it was written in a gritty, 'war-time', journalistic style, I would read a few passages and stop to digest before reading more passages. It had that realistic quality that caused me to stop and wonder if "zombies" really could exist and that is a horrific thought. If you really want to know how to prepare, this book will put you on the right track.
Gavin Blaire is the only character I cared for in this book. It was in interesting read. But just maybe not the book for me
