This review is for the whole series.

I've loved this series for years. Long long ago I've read it and now I finally collected all the volumes and read them. The first 3 and a half volumes are amazing. The author's brain is amazing for creating the mental game between two geniuses. This series will forever hold a special place in my heart. But the last 2 and a half volumes felt more like a side story and were less interesting.

Another solid volume!
This edition had volumes 5 & 6... And oh lordy, the last few chapters of volume 6 were intense and fast paced! Literally had me at the edge of my seat, I could not put it down!
I am most certainly binge watching the anime again after this!
Moving into the next...

The ending was so intense.

The 1st volume I loved, the 2nd was ok, this was awful. Irritatingly I'd bought volumes 2 to 6 off the back of the enjoyment I got from volume 1.

My favorite of the whole series

I was reading along just great, and then Light’s character changes. Interesting for a minute, but then So boring. And the monsters leave for a good while. So boring. Then it’s all about this business group we don’t care about. So boring. It picked back up when the monsters came in again, and the last few chapters really built to a cliffhanger of sorts. I’m interested in how it all moves the plot forward still, but good lort I hope it doesn’t take all the main characters away ever again. It was the worst which means I guess I really liked and missed them.

The second bit was definitely better than the first. Overall, I'd still not rate Death Note lesser than 4.5 because Death Note is absolutely brilliant. I have taken a long time to get through these but I still love them. I'll read the next one much sooner.
