To be honest what I love most about this book is the fact that it is the one childrens book that I have seen that it is about tattoos. I also enjoyed the illustrations.
The story itself is rather simple and is mostly about a father telling family/personal stories about each of his tattoos.
The kids loved this story - of course they love their Mapa's tattoos and love to ask questions about them.
Cecilia HATED the writting - which is written as if the father is answering questions posed by his child - however the questions themselves are not part of the story which she felt was confusing. Of course the fact that the kids kept asking for it to be read over and over did not further endear it to her and her dislike of the story was in and of itself entertaining to them...

I love how this book actually shows a parent with tattoos. My husband and I both have tattoos, and they have become so common that I think it’s good to normalize.

I hope my kids ask me about my tattoos one day because most of them have some kind of meaning.

And my daughter loved this book. She like the pictures, and asked questions about it, and even pointed at my flower tattoo when she saw a flower tattoo on the dad in the story. It was really sweet, and special.

I think this book would be good to read to children to teach them that not all parents look the same. The sentences are short and simple for younger children to understand. The illustrations are beautiful, and this book can be a good teaching tool for children.

The story craves a little more back and forth dialogue, but overall I think it's really wonderful. I like that it's tattoo positive and explains to children that tattoos can be special and hold meaning. I don't know that I'd use it at story time because of the one sided dialogue, but I'd be open to trying!

I think it could have been written better. It was sweet but not much filling.

I loved this sweet story. I wish my best fried would have a baby just so I could buy him this book as a shower gift.

Full disclosure: I received this eARC through Edelweiss.

This is perfect for modern parents. What took so long to make a picture book about tattoos???

This is a truly adorable story to share with any child who is curious about tattoos, but especially those with tattooed parents. The illustrations are lovely and give so much to the story! If I could give more than five stars, I certainly would!!
